Bright!
Bright! Perfect for basement. The lighting fixtures in my basement were designed to take 60 W incandescent bulbs (i.e. Max power that should be consumed through the fixture is 60w - otherwise can start a fire. Back in the old days - this limits the amount of light put out by each fixture with an incandescent bulb. NOW with these 20W LED bulbs - I can stay safe - and with the 2000 lumens per bulb - I can turn my dark basement into a sunny day! Now I can see the stains on clothing before adding clothes to washing machine and now I know where to give a blast of SHOUT to the stains.EDIT: One bulb - that had been installed for weeks and was working great - suddenly started blinking like a strobe light. Odd. I moved the bulb to another fixture and it worked fine. I installed a KNOWN GOOD bulb back into the original fixture - and that worked fine. After scratching my head for several minutes - I realized that this one socket in the basement was on a DIMMER circuit. Duh. I can verify that these ecoBright bulbs are - as manufactures clearly states - NOT SUITABLE for dimmers. SO if your bulb starts to behave light a strobe light - it means that the voltage in that socket is below 100V - i.e. on a dimmer or some issue with that fixture. Love these bulbs.

Nice and bright -- if big
It is bright. And it runs cold -- as an LED-lamp is supposed to. I replaced the burned-out bulb in the recessed light-fixture in our shower with it.It is so large, I had to remove the fixture's flat translucent cover -- now part of the lamp protrudes from the ceiling (further increasing the amount of light we get). But the shower is much brighter now and, because the bulb is still cold, there is no danger in water drops hitting it occasionally.I hope, it will live for the many years promised -- should the longevity disappoint, I'll update this review. As things stand though, the hefty price of it ought to pay back with the much lower power-consumption (we used to have a traditional 60W bulb there). And, using 3 times less electricity, we are getting much more light too.

Very bright but more of a spotlight than a traditional bulb
I got this in hopes to have a very bright bulb for my lamp on my mailbox but unfortunately due to a combination of the height of this bulb being close to the lid of the lamp enclosure and the fact that it's not an omni-directional bulb, the resulting light output was more dim than a typical 40w incandescent bulb.I put the light in my garage though and it was much brighter than the 150w incandescent I was previously using so the product has a happy story ending for me. Just make sure you have the right location for this to get maximum benefit.

Burned out catastrophically after 6 months
Not only did the bulb burn out, and arced at the base, it also took out the thermal safety device on the floor lamp. Given the damage to the socket and the safety, I ended up scrapping the floor lamp. Nice and bright when it worked, though!

Works great!
This bulb is very bright and was just what I was looking for. The "color" (3000K) seems good for our livingroom, and the brightness is perfect for our floor lamp which lights up the ceiling for indirect lighting. However, it only lasted a month before it started flickering. Ecobright stood behind this, and I got a new one in June 2016. It is now Jan 2020, and it is still working great.Other users bad feedback usually gets a note from the company saying hey, why don't you return it instead of giving a bad review? But - their website has limited ways to contact them, except calling them which I think just gets their sales team, as everything on their website is about sales and no other contact method I can see. Sadly I was just over the time limit where Amazon would take the first one back. Anyway, all good now, and I am very happy with the bulb - very bright, and perfect for my floor lamp and the indirect lighting from the ceiling.

Didn't stand the test of time
These things are huge so if you need to put them in a confined space good luck!Bought 2. 1 just died after 2 years. So where exactly is that big return on the investment that is supposed to come with the exact cost of LEDs?UPDATE:1) The second bulb died.2) I wrote the company about their lifetime warranty.3) As others have found the company's responsiveness is less than ideal. After bugging them several times I finally got a response. It was "I am terribly sorry Eric, let me make sure to take care of this issue right now then.It sucks I know, but better late then never at least! :)Here are the two options in terms of getting a warranty:1) Since your order is from 2016, the company will no longer cover the shipping feeand I can not override that unfortunately, so for this order you will need to mail the bulbs in for a replacement. This process usually takes 5-7 business days once bulb(s) are received.2) I can offer you a 50% OFF deep discount for 2 bulbs on amazon. These bulbs are 2018 model, 25% brighter than the ones you have. Not the same model. If you decide to go this route, you will need to purchase the needed model and contact me with your order number to apply a 50% refund for your order. Please note that only two units can be purchased with this offer and you will not need to mail anything to us."4) Read the fine print - buried in the 'Product Details' chart and not the verbal description is this line: Not for use in enclosed fixtures" So beware this bulb has some limitations which will impact how you use it.It is a VERY BRIGHT bulb and while it latest it was glorious.

Bright long lasting
Bright long lastingThe January 2016 version of this bulb has been burning on my porch 24/7 for five years. Survived temps below zero and above 100. Is now past rated life.Installed with no cover or enclosure. The tiny 1960 glass cover was only made for standard incandescant bulbs. Is pretty well protected by porch overhang. So I took a chance. Do not know if it ever got wet from horizontal blowing rain. The large aluminum heat sink disipates all heat. Is cool to the touch.EDIT: found two important aspects in product details.- Indoor use only- Not for use in enclosed fixtures
