Q: How easily does the fold down function work?

It looks like the latest iteration of the product (Sep, 2020) no longer offers the fold down feature.

Q: Is the hitch tightener required? I don’t mind the movement of the rack but I do mind installing and uninstalling the hitch tightener.

I would not say it's required, but I would highly recommend using it to keep everything snug and solid. Simply carry a 3/4" wrench or socket and ratchet. It is easy to install and uninstall.

Q: my bike has 1.85" wide tires, will they fit ?

Yes!!! The inside dimension between the wheel bracket is 2 5/8", so your bike will fit.

Q: Will this work with a 29” full suspension? Length I guess the main concern.

Yea, really wonder why it says 20 - 26 inch wheels in the description. No reason larger wheels would not work.
