Quality is slightly lacking
It is great, small, easy to hide, exactly what I needed. My only problem and the reason i gave it a lower than 5 star rating is that it has a very obnoxious static tone that i can't seem to get to go away. What I'm recording happens to be very quite, so the static overpowers it. However, it can record for a very large distance as well, it captured sounds from vehicles nearly a mile away from my house. So if you plan on recording louder things, it might be perfect for you, may still require some audio editing software. If you plan on just using it for memo's or something, it probably won't need any software at all, having it in my hand recording myself it works perfect and my own voice overpowers any static.

Don't. Just don't.
I have one similar to this that was branded as MaxPro. I’ve had it for 5 years. Still work pretty well; but it’s starting to act up. So, I thought I’d replace it with this one. Mistake!Well, the MaxPro one has a nice little app on it to set the time. Just plug it in, browse the device and click on the app. The date and time on the device will be set. This one only has a text file that somehow you’re supposed to be able to use to set parameters on the device. No instructions on how, or anything. Useless.A recording device that does not indicate the date and time the recording was made is utterly useless.Returned the next day!

Nice but better battery would be great
This is a nice recorder; I see many people talking about sound… it’s enclosed and has no holes for sound to penetrate so what I did was punch two little holes in the skinny sides of it to allow sound into the device. But from what I’ve seen it seems the battery only last about one hour the red light always stays on while charging no identifier to signal full charge…

Elusive
Instructions a little like nailing Jell-O to a wall. Have to turn on unit to recharge it, but plugging the unit into the computer and turning it on...it records. Does this mean it's still recharging even though it is using electricity at the same time to record?? So darned confusing!

Very functional unit
The unit works as advertised but attempting to understand the operating instructions is a challenge.

Inconsistent
I bought two of these and have found them both to be inconsistent in recording. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. They both worked fine initially, but over just a few months, I've found that I don't have full recordings and some just aren't there. The microphone is great in that it picks up sounds from far away. However, there it doesn't discriminate between voices and other noises, so many of the recordings I did get aren't very useful because of so much background noise.
