Smoothest Decaf I've ever had
I love coffee. But this month, I had to massively reduce the amount of caffeine I was drinking, because it was affecting my heart and making my anxiety a lot worse.I decided to look up the best decaf coffees, and this was one of the recommendations that I kept seeing. I figured if I have to drink decaf and cut my regular coffee with it, I want to try the best decafs I can find. I brewed it in my french press. All I can say is that this is the best decaf roast I have ever tried. It's an extremely smooth, deep roast with very low acidity. I honestly think it would be pretty difficult to mess up brewing this, bc of how smooth it is. And I think it will blend perfectly with most of the caffeinated coffees I drink. I will definitely keep coming back to this one.

A Kicking Horse...without the 'kick' of caffeine
When I was younger, being HIGHLY caffeinated was 'de rigueur' to get through the work day, but the coffee served at most places where I worked in was dismal at best. 🤢 So I began concocting morning coffees for the commute to the office, and as I learned more and more about the amazing world of coffee, I also started mixing my own bean blends for home use. Of course, nowadays, tracking down good ORGANIC coffee is always top of mind, too.Fast forward several years, and now that I'm older, I've discovered that a good 50/50 blend of both regular coffee with caffeine - as well as that without - seems to work much better for me now. I like my sleep. 😉 This is where having a great DECAF coffee is so important.I've tried several different varieties of decaf coffees, but seem to always go back to Kicking Horse. It's a dark roasted brew - my favorite roast - but it also has all the other things I like in a coffee: whole bean/Swiss water process, organic, fair trade, even Kosher. It's a surprisingly very smooth and rich brew. Who knew decaf could be this good on its own? This makes my afternoon (or post-dinner) 'cuppa' that much better!Overall, while I may still 'taste test' other brands, Kicking Horse is one of the best decafs out there, IMHO!

These Beans Are Fine For Decaf Espresso
I've only had one double shot so far but the beans are rather oily and a very dark roast. I am mainly using for espresso in the evenings for cappuccinos. I do taste the espresso though I am not a straight espresso drinker, I found it to be really strong which will work fine for my milk drinks. As oily as the beans are, I don't think the beans were roasted in the past couple of months but who knows. They did make decent crema. I mainly only buy specialty beans from local roasters but gave these a try to try and find a less expensive option that's available on Amazon.

Simply the best-tasting Decaf I could find. Smooth, but expensive shipping!
With all my reviews I give the good, the bad, and a fair summary. The tragedy of this AMAZING decaf coffee lies in things OUTSIDE the product itself, so read below carefully:The GOOD: This is the best decaf coffee I've ever tasted. Consistently smooth when cold-brewed or heated alike. Free of fungus (or that stuff that looks like fungus), and they utilize a "Swiss Water Method" of extracting the caffeine, which is free of the traditional way which uses chemicals or whatever. I have consistently suggested this brand of coffee to others, who then laugh at me for bothering to drink decaf coffee in the first place. I'm almost certain their other coffees are just as good. Bravo. Slow morning clap. The BAD: Because the product is out of Canada, when buying shipping off their website, they'll charge you $17 to ship alone. Get out of here, buddy. The prices on the website are a little lower, but if you notice, the difference is reflected on Amazon, so regardless you're paying for the coffee + international shipping, regardless how they package it.From what I understand, they supply it to COSTCO and Whole Foods, so try your luck finding it there to see if the prices are better. That international shipping is killer, boys.As a plus, KHC will give you a free shipping option for your FIRST purchase, but require the $17 each new time. I'm over here wondering how I can get around that.Regardless, the product itself is a treasure to the taste buds. I just can't get over the price of international shipping. In the future, I'll explore Whole Foods as an option, but until then, I'll make my current supply last as much as I can I guess. Thank you.

Delicious!
I brewed my first cup of espresso with this today and made a latte. Very smooth and full flavored.

Not very strong for espresso, probably better for drip.
Has a mild flavor. Not good at all for espresso since you can't control the flavor density. Probably better with a drip coffee maker where you can brew strong or add more coffee.

Amazing
This coffee is the best decaf I ever had, it absolutely does not taste decaffeinated. I will continue to buy this.
