Sounding Out the Sight Words: An Alternative to Rote Memorization Spiral-bound – February 15, 2020

This book is really easy to use and the perfect resource! I wish that the games & worksheets that went along with logic of English were easier to purchase, but this ha day flip book is 100% worth the money.

So easy to use, very explicit amd well organized. I teach students who receive reading intervention, and this book is a game changer. I love to watch their confidence growing with each new lesson!There are companion books and resources available for additional practice, too.

We use this along side my daughter’s weekly sight word sent home from school. We look up words in the index and find the lesson for each word. It has been great for my daughter who always wants to know the why behind everything and along the way we learn new phonograms, spelling rules, and other words that follow the same rules.

This instructional book is great for teaching Dolch words. I bought a set of Dolch words flash cards by Coogam and arranged them according to the scope & sequence of this book. It works like a charm, my student has already learned more than half of the first 58 words recommended to teach.I don't agree with everything in this book, regarding how they organized their concepts and some of the words (this book is Print-to-Speech aligned, and there are errors with how they categorized some words as "schwa"), but this book will suffice and is currently THE BEST tool available to teach high-frequency words according to phonics.

This has helped my kinders so much! I am so excited to be able to help my young readers and writers improve even more.

I like how my students participate during morning meeting, as we go through sounding out letters, blends and sight words.

This book is well written and came highly recommended from a person training our staff on best practices for reading.

We have been using the Logic of English foundation program with our kids for the last few years. Our struggling readers has made great strides with her reading since we switched to using Logic of English. I look forward to giving them the proper tools to be able to decode sight words.
