For those who like to cook....
We had a Broan 30 inch, 450 CFM hood installed in our newly-renovated row house in Baltimore. Whenever we cooked, even with the hood on its highest setting, the entire house smelled like whatever we were cooking. If we were grilling meat in a cast iron pan at high temperature, the smoke alarms in the house always went off, even when we cracked open a window in the kitchen. So we switched to this 36 inch 630 CFM range hood. Here are a few of the differences:My wife is grilling onions right now with the hood fan on its highest setting. I’m sitting 15 feet away and haven’t even gotten a wiff of onions. When grilling meat on high temp in a cast iron pan with the hood fan on its highest setting, the house doesn’t smell like meat and the smoke alarms never go off. No longer a need to crack open a kitchen window. The lowest fan setting is practically silent, but for normal cooking it’s more than adequate. With our previous Broan 30 inch 450 CFM hood the low fan setting was fairly loud. The LED lighting mounted in the front provides excellent illumination—color temp is warm. The medium and high fan settings sound like fans running at high speed, but it’s a neutral noise and very possible to talk while running the fan on medium or high. The material, design and build quality of the hood are all excellent. It arrived very well-packed and undamaged. Before moving here the only hoods we had ever owned were Viking, which are a lot more money and don’t seem to be any better built than is this Broan hood. All in all, if you like to cook, a larger hood that can move more air (compared to the standard 30 inch 450 CFM hood) can really make a difference. We like the Broan and recommend it unconditionally.

Great customer service backed by Broan
I am a very satisfied customer and writing this to say: Thank you! This is a great product, but unfortunately ours lasted exactly 11 months and 2 weeks. I contacted customer service and they told us would send a replacement, long story short. We ended up waiting over 4 months because Broan replaced the model and it was backed order processing our case. I was about to giving up and buying one in the Black-Friday weekend, but the next day I arrived home from work and there it was in our front door, day before Thanksgiving, I reinstalled it and it was great. My wife called it the Thanksgiving miracle. Worked out perfectly, especially that we hosted Thanksgiving and the laddies burned the marshmallow, big under control fire and lot of smoke which the fan took care of it very efficiently. Honestly don’t know what would’ve been of us without it 🙌🏽 Thank you!

Poor quality
I bought a unit in September 2022 and it worked ok except for the loud noise at level 3. In January 2023 the unit suddenly made strange noises and it turned out some blades of the fan were broken. I called Broan and was told there was no service available in my area. They offered to send me a new unit. Being wary of the poor quality, I asked for a refund or credit but was refused. So I had to hire a contractor to install the new unit, and now 8 months later the new unit was broken too, with the same problem. If I had known the quality problem of this unit, I would have thrown away the second unit! Don't be fooled by the deep discount.

A couple things stood out to me.
36-inch. Packaged very well, no damage. Very nice finish on the stainless steel. I installed it quickly with no difficulty. I mounted the hood 28-inches above the stove.I like the touch-sensitive buttons as there are no crevasses to collect grease. The buttons light up with a classy blue neon-look ring around the buttons. I also like the 5-minute delay feature for fan off, and I like that there is no LCD display to make the unit more gaudy and prone to failure. I like the very clean design.I unscientifically tested the decibel sound levels with an Android phone app; I held the phone at my head level where I would be standing to cook. Ambient in my kitchen at the time was 50db. Fan on low: 54db, very quiet and did a fairly good job at capturing steam from eggs boiling in a pan on a front burner. Fan on medium: 74db, a substantial jump in dbs, but I found this speed necessary to extract the smoke and odor of a hamburger cooking in a fry pan on a front burner. This sound level is just a bit too high to have a comfortable conversation. On high: 84 db, which is just too loud to bear for any length of time and may even loosen fillings in your teeth (hey, it could happen, maybe). I doubt I will use it on high very often.A couple things that stood out to me: 1: I'm happy that there is no name plate on the hood. This makes it easier to clean the stainless steel and the look is very clean. I consider this fan to be at a very good price point, and I can imagine that Broan ditched the name plate to save a certain number of pennies. 2. The lights have two modes: on and off. They are bright and at a good lumen level for seeing what you are cooking. But I am surprised that there isn't a third option, call it "night light mode." I guess for the price point Broan opted to not buy more-expensive dimmable LED modules and put in a variable power supply. 3: Every button press results in a beep, like on a microwave oven. I could do without this as the buttons light up to tell you what is happening. It may be good for a blind person, maybe, but for me they could have saved another few-cents by eliminating the beep module. I'd still be just as happy with this unit. 4. The stainless steel in this hood is strongly magnetic. If you want, you could use a refrigerator magnet to hold an old-school paper recipe to the hood. Or a magnetic hook to hold a potholder. You are on your own with this; don't invite the fire marshal to dinner.

Easy install
This hood looks great and is not difficult to install. My BIL and I installed it but left to duct work and roof vent part to a pro. turned out great and we are very happy. The 36” vent motor is only rated at 600 not the advertised number. a minor issue.

Works well, loud at higher speeds
It’s an attractive vent hood. The mounting system was very simple and straight forward. It didn’t come with exhaust pipe like the cosmo does but that stuff really isn’t as good as the higher quality stuff I used. Functions well overall and the wife is happy with it.

Powerful Range Hood
Really nice range hood. Looks great in my new kitchen. Noise level goes from quiet at 1 to loud at 4. For most cooking 1 or 2 would be more than enough. The lights have two settings. Overall very happy
