Product Description It’s a battle of the beasts from the director of Pet Sematary that’ll rock your world when two titanic terrors face off along with a pair of ‘80s pop icons! After doctor and activist Nikki Riley (Debbie Gibson) accidentally unleashes a python into the Everglades, rival doctor Terry O’Hara (Tiffany) is tasked with finding an expert reptile hunter—and when her boyfriend dies in the process, she resorts to extreme measures to create genetically enlarged gators to stop the slithering menace. Soon the swamp is a huge, scaly battleground between colossal gators and pythons -- with a charity ball of potential human snacks in their path! Don’t miss this mammoth spectacle of teen queens and man-eating monsters in a gargantuan duel to the death! .com This SyFy Channel original production starts and ends with the joke pairing of Debbie Gibson and Tiffany, the '80s teen-pop mega-idols whose rivalry at the peak of their fame gets a real comeuppance over the course of an unconditionally silly story about giant snakes and giant alligators and the human flesh that comes between them. Those old enough to have been tweenage fans may take some perverse pleasure in an extended catfight between the two fortysomethings, which ends with them flopping around in a swamp. But a wet T-shirt contest between a pair of sexy starlets this ain't. Fortunately both of them are entirely in on the publicity ploy of their onscreen battle as well as the utterly absurd and blatantly amateurish attempts at monster effects, not to mention a script that's as lame and self-reflexive as schlock horror gets. Gibson plays an animal activist named Nikki who liberates giant pythons from a laboratory into the Florida Everglades, where they breed bigger and bigger offspring, endangering the native alligator population. As Terry, the self-righteous park ranger, Tiffany fights back by heedlessly feeding the gators dangerous experimental steroids so they can fight back against the mega python aggressors. (In a nod to Jaws, Terry points out to no one in particular, "We need a bigger gator!") Needless to say, neither Nikki nor Terry was paying much attention in biology class when issues of maintaining the delicate balance of eco-preservation were being taught. Each one keeps upping the ante in what turns into a personal grudge match--hence the ultimate Tiffany vs. Gibson smackdown--until creatures of both species now hundreds of feet long are terrorizing the locals and threatening to cut a swath of reptilian destruction all the way to Miami. Caught in the middle of the digital mayhem are countless humans who get chomped and swallowed in great splashes of gore, including those who are closest to the dopey women responsible for it all. Two good sports who show up for some self-effacing fun and what was probably a very small paycheck are A Martinez as a scientist who thinks he knows what he's doing, and ex-Monkee Micky Dolenz, who plays himself, though apparently for the last time. Speaking of the digital effects, they're about as laughable as the rest of the cheapo production elements and appear to have been layered in via laptop as an afterthought. When the humans fight back with automatic weapons and dynamite, giant chunks of reptiles fall from the sky like pixilated boulders. But Mega Python vs. Gatoroid is meant to be winking high camp from start to finish (see opening sentence) and no one is taking anything very seriously. That's also the best way to view it, preferably with a roomful of Tiffany and Gibson fans (or maybe haters) who have been appropriately lubed with the beverages of their choice. --Ted Fry

"Those snakes ruined everything!"
I don't know who Debbie Gibson and Tiffany think they are, or were, but I bought this movie for the snakes and gators, not them. In truth, I have no idea what their claim to fame is, or was, and I don't care. As billed, they were co-producers of this venture, co-stars, and obviously codependent (I don't think either of them wanted to look this stupid on their own, misery loves company). The plot is perversely idiotic, an obnoxious animal activist, claiming to be a doctor (Debbie Gibson), steals and releases snakes in the Florida Everglades (with some savage repercussions). By the time ranger Tiffany moseyed into this derelict plot I began to assume this was meant to be a comedy of small proportions. Bubba the dog gets eaten. The gun crazy local yokels are only too happy to switch from gator hunting to python hunting. A guy gallantly runs a snake over with his pickup (chivalry is not dead or dormant). By the time they started lacing chickens with steroids and feeding them to the gators, I was hooked. This is an incredibly crappy movie that manages to be quite funny in spite of the two leads trying against insurmountable odds and no talent to make this into a parody of all the other BIG gator-snake-shark type movies they don't want to be associated with. And then Micky Dolenz shows up as himself (type casting). They probably thought this was a really cute idea teaming these two ladies. But too much relies on knowing who these two would-be warbles are and why it should be funny to see them involved in an adolescent food fight. Regardless, it's still oddly entertaining in a bus wreck sort of way. (It seems rather obvious to say this is a bad movie but I feel it's almost a duty to mention it anyway.) Even so, I liked the darn thing in ways that make absolutely no sense.

Priceless Shlock
Awful FX, surprisingly competent acting and a very uncomfortable looking Mickey Dolenz.I love it.

A Must-See! Glorious In All Of Its Terribleness! Entertaining To The Core!!!!
Gigantic pythons. Regular gators. Pretty cool. But then the pythons grow to massive proportions and start killing the gators! Oh goodness! What to do?! We must save the gators! Here's an idea...pump the gators full of steroids! Yup that does the trick. But woe is me, the gators eat the pythons and some pythons eat the gators, so the pythons continue growing and having anger management problems, as do the gators. Steroids pumping up both creatures, getting them all angry...so much anger that I doubt group therapy anger management classes can cure. What can get more entertaining than this? Of course, you, dear movie-go-er, are still blessed with truly dramatic, point-out-the-obvious ("He was eaten by a gator!"), jokes so bad that they are hilarious, so much carnage that the characters are like "oh another dude got eaten, oh well, let me have a beer," adequately terrible CGI, obliviousness, and oh, yes, what is a terribly awful glorious movie without blowing up gigantic critters mixed with a hot skinny blonde dressed in skimpy clothing? Yes, my friends, this is certainly a terrible awesome movie for those of you, who, like myself, enjoy these types of movies.

Great Movie By The Asylum
9.6/10. A great, fun filled romp by the Asylum, a studio that makes movies for fun. Tiffany Darwish and Debbie Gibson clearly enjoy themselves as they play off their supposed feud of the 80's. Giant alligators vs giant pythons, I rooted for the alligators. If you like Asylum movies then you'll love the movie.

An absolute blast if you love bad animal horror movies!
This is a GREAT bad animal horror movie! Grab your friends, a pile of snack and your best sense of humor and have a blast! I have a tradition of hosting bad animal horror movie nights and look for some pretty awful stuff. This one was full of laughs and we had a great time yelling sarcastic, snarky comments at the TV. The park ranger outfit is the BEST! I am a park ranger and it was a hoot ripping her to shreds verbally! Yes, most of the movie is horribly predictable, but there were a couple moments that actually caught us off guard - I rate that as a pretty amazing thing in this type of movie! Fun times for all!!!

Digital Video Rental quality needs work
For a silly monster flick, this is one of the best out there. It's great. The rest of this review is about the digital video playback experience, rented through Amazon on a Playstation 3 system with a high-bandwidth connection. The video was NOT high-definition, despite the big "HD" logo on the product information page when I ordered. Furthermore, the video quality is in many places less than that of a physical DVD. Low light scenes had large and significant blocks and artifacts. Darker forest areas suffered from poor contrast, and colors were generally muddy and disappointing. Brighter scenes looked OK.The sound was adequate, but not impressive.iTunes has this in HD for $4.99, would be worth the extra dollar.

Delivers!
This is a strange one, a bad film that knows its bad and plays on this all the way through. But it does have some nice surprises in the script, and in the camera work which veers off into "Carry On" territory at times. You also have to admire them for managing to weave the song titles from both Tiffany and Debbie Gibson into the script. The film ramps along at a frantic pace with the early reveal of Mega Python(s) allowing much of the early cast to be swiftly done away with.I am sure this was not the career that Debbie Gibson and Tiffany saw when they were big in the 80s, but they both throw themselves into it with gusto. The effects and CGI is not good but you don't have time to dwell on this before it moves to the next scene and there are all sorts of flaws in the behaviour of the Pythons in particular (decapitating bodies for example) but if you want a serious film about snakes you would probably choose one with a different title. The bottom line though is it does not feel over long and boring while delivering what it promises on the box the box with infectious energy and not a little wit!

Bad, but in a good way
Okay, neither Tiffany (who is sort of attractive in an overweight tattooed red-headed kind of way) nor Debbie Gibson (skinny blonde who hasn't worn well) can really act. Both their characters in the film act behave with astonishing stupidity and so does the rest of the cast. The story doesn't always make sense -like how come no-one noticed for months that the alligators and their deadly enemy the pythons were growing in size and why had they suddenly stopped killing each other? The CGI, as usual, is pretty crap. But who cares when there's so much fun to be had. The two women's characters hate each other which leads to a cat-fight in the middle of a fund-raising party for the swamp where punches and cream cakes are thrown and, without them even noticing, the rest of the guests start getting eaten by monsters, following which one of them says, "I think we're alone now," and the other replies with the next line of the song. Mickey Dolenz has a surprise and funny cameo and gets (spoiler warning) eaten. Sorry was that too late? Well, it was obvious anyway. The DVD cover art doesn't exaggerate by much. There are not just two monsters but dozens of them. Most of the cast gets eaten. It really is a bad film but I was too busy enjoying myself most of the time to notice.

You want a B-movie great, look no further
A hokey plot, insane science and a cat fight between two 80's teeny-poppers (in evening dresses). All the elements for a show stoppingly good-bad movie. Watch it- it is a great way to spend an evening.

Brilliant monster B movie!
Bought this to add to mine and my 14 year old daughter's collection of films that are so bad, they're great! Wasn't disappointed! Definitely in the top 3 so far of films where the pleasure is in spending the time laughing at the acting, counting the continuity errors and of course, mocking the totally over the top story line! Right up there with Mega Pirahna and Crocosaurus vs Supergator!
