Solano Supersolano Professional Hair Dryer, Red/Black

I love and hate this dryer. It is an excellent dryer and it does the job however, this is the third dryer that fails in the same manner. The most recent one that I purchased, I've had for only six months and it already died on me. Previously I thought that it was normal wear and tear until this last one. It starts out with a whining noise and gets louder and louder. There is also an odor of burning plastic due to the fan blades rubbing on the plastic housing. I had to have my husband open it up to see what was causing this problem. He determined that the mounting holes that support the motor break and the motor and blades become loose. This causes the plastic blades to rub on the plastic housing causing the noise and burning smell.Here is a video that shows this flaw. I bought this hair dryer last May. When I received it, it made a rattling noise and smelled like burning plastic. I went ahead and used it and the rattling seemed to stop after the first or second use. Last week it started rattling again and When I looked into the vent I noticed the fan was hitting the insides of the dryer. I opened the dryer and saw the screws had come out of the mounting and pieces of plastic had melted on the coils. It's been just under a year and I doubt I can exchange it as I didn't turn in the warranty and I don't think warranty qualifies for Amazon purchases. I would give this dryer 4 stars as it works well but reading reviews now I see it's not a one time incident and looks like many customers have the same exact issues with the screws coming loose after use!

This blow dryer is the worst. I ordered the first one and it came broken. I ordered another and finally got to use it. When using it, the dryer had a high pitch sound and my husband looked at it and said the fan blades were rubbing on the housing. He looked at it closer and said this dryer is also broken the same way. We were getting ready to go to the keys for 2 weeks so I decided to return it when we got back. Now that we are back, it now says the return date expired June 1st. So now I'm stuck with a broken dryer that cost a bundle. This is the worst experience ever.

LOVE! My dryer went out Christmas Eve so I spoke to my stylist and she recommend this dryer! I looked into it and ordered it! The shipping was so fast I was amazed! The warranty is two years and most dryers are just one so I registered it! I was so excited the next day when I used it my hair was amazing! Shiner, healthier looking, no frizz, and it even blow dried straight so I didn't have to use my straightener! I got so many compliments! I love my dryer! I have wavy to curly hair and I never used to wear it that way and now I do every now and then because there is no frizz! I can't say enough about my dryer it's great! I love this solano product and will buy more! I recommend them!

I have had this since January 2015. The dryer itself worked great but the plug cracked and now I can't use it. I have had much cheaper dryers last me longer than 1.5 years. Very disappointed.

Hair dryer was heavier than I expected it to be, definitely the heaviest hair dryer I have owned. Has good air flow, high heat is hot enough. You can switch heat setting to hold on cold, or hold a separate button for cold air. My last dryer was an Amika, that unfortunately quit working too soon. For reference, it blew about the same amount of air, but much hotter, almost too hot. It was quite a bit lighter as well. Overall, this dryer performs well, but had I compared weights in a store, I probably would not have chosen this dryer.

This dryer is a "work horse". The old saying "you get what you pay for", certainly applies here. This is the 3rd one I've bought in 14 years. I bought this one just to have in case the company decided to discontinue the model. So actually I'm on my second one in 14 years. Love the extra long heavy duty cord. It's professional quality so you will pay more, but it's worth it.

Warning--if you get this hair dryer and it makes a loud metallic cranking noise, send it back. I used this dryer three times. The first time it was noisy but settled down a little after I adjusted the filter. The second time it was quieter but really didn't dry my hair fast at all even at the highest settings. The third time it made an extra loud grinding noise and I pulled it back to look at it and it was red hot and sending out smoke after around five seconds of use. I hit the safety switch on the plug and sent it back. I know I must have gotten a defective one so I can't provide a rating for one that didn't have a problem but the one time it seemed to work I was not impressed.

Wife loves it, much more powerful than her previous unit.

The package arrived in perfect shape, unopened, and new. The hairdryer works perfectly, my girlfriend's hair feels soft and looks silky. Although she says it is a little bit heavier than other dryers, but she is satisfied with it.
