MG Men's Plaid Ivy Washed Canvas Newsboy Cap Hat

DEAR AMAZON,The ONLY reason this purchase did not get 5 stars is because your site does not make it easy to find hats by size. I literally have to go to one hat at a time to see if they even have that style in my size... and not many hat makers make hats in my size at all. This is very frustrating and makes me go to other sites that specialize in hat selling. If you would update your site to filter by available hat sizes, that would be a huge win! especially since hats for men are really coming into style.** Personal anecdote related to the product, but good information (actual product experience at the end):OK, I'm a "head-shaver".What this means is that in the winter all my body heat goes out of my head and I am cold. In the summer I get sun-burned on my head, if I'm not careful.I'm also in my mid 40s and, I'm sorry, stocking caps intended for the snow but worn by kids as a kind of fashion is just not for me. I think they are over done and show little thought to your appearance - a true remnant of the grunge fad of the 90's.I'm also not one for wearing hats in general. The main reason is I truly have a big head (probably in more ways than one, but I digress) and I have yet to find a hat that, while being fashionable (Fedora, Bowler, other, etc.), would still fit my head. My hat size is 7 1/2 to 7 5/8... or "extra large" but other standards.My wife and I thought it through and decided this style of hat would be great for me. I say, humbly, that I do look good with a shaved head. And I wanted a hat that would be a good accent to having a shaved head.This style of hat fit the bill (no pun intended) perfectly!! I went with this particular hat because it was inexpensive and would serve as a trial to see if I'd truly like this kind of hat. Well, I do, so now I'll be looking for a buying more of this style and other variations to go with it. I have received more positive comments on my new purchase than I can count!So, with the purchase of this hat I finally found a style that is "me", looks good, my wife loves it, and it fits. I also discovered my hat size and the fact that, if you look, you can find the right size hat for you right here on Amazon.** So, enough of the story, now for the product:This is a great "knock-around", everyday use hat. It's made of durable canvas and the workmanship is well done. I could see this simple canvas hat lasting for years. Half the time I forget that I'm even wearing it. It looks good forward as well as backward. The elastic band is at the back and is only about 1 1/2 - 2 inches long. I don't feel it gathering, which would be uncomfortable. I can't speak for those who have hair, but it is quite comfortable for my bare head. There can be a slight discomfort on your forehead if you have dry skin, however.

Thought this was too small when I first got it as I have never worn this type of hat before, but I've grown to like it very much. It leaves the temples open so it's easy to change glasses, and it looks great with dark sunglasses.Sits a tiny bit higher than a ball cap but I haven't had it blow off in the wind. The brim is nice, not as wide as a fedora but still blocks the sun out. No adjustment of any kind just an elastic section at the back. If you have a larger head this may seem too small and if you have a smaller head it may seem too loose. Would have given it 5 stars if it had an adjustment feature like the Velcro strap on some ball caps as people heads are different sizes.

I figured since it had elastic in the back, it would be snug since the elastic would accommodate bigger heads. Only a tad loose but I still love it. What I like the most about it is that it is not stiff and made to be rounded at the top of your fore head. It rounds to your head naturally instead which is how these hats SHOULD do. Nowadays, most are made with a rounded head shape in the front and if you lay it down on a table, you cannot press that spot down so the hat lies flat. I think the ones made with the rounded head shape when you are not wearing it look stupid on the wearers. For me, these kinds of caps are ONLY authentic if they are soft in the area above your forehead so as to round off at the top naturally to your head shape.

Got this for my 87 year old father, mainly because he has had some skin cancers removed from his head, and I believe his dr. told him to start wearing a hat, although he hasn't told me that. He started looking for baseball cap styles and wasn't going to pay the price they were asking. I have always thought the "paperboy" hat looked classy on anyone wearing them. I found this on your website and knew I wanted to get it for him. When he puts it on he looks very stylish and I believe he thinks the same thing, as I catch him looking at himself in mirrors and windows. He's cute when he thinks he looks so good.

I like the cap even though it is snug on me. Actually when I first put it on it was so tight it was painful. I have worn 7 1/2 and 7 5/8, so I do have a big head. But I liked the look of it and needed something to keep the sun off my balding pate. I wore it a few hours a day and it didn't take long for it to feel comfortable on my head with no pinching. I am not entirely sure it is worth the price (some of the stitching looks a little sloppy) but it looks good on and does what I need it to do.

I have been wearing similar caps for years. I recently left one in a restaurant about 50 miles from home so I bought this washed canvas ivy cap as a replacement for less than the cost of driving to pick up the abandoned one. This may be better quality. Most of the cap manufacturers make them only in one-size-fits-all. This leaves a little pucker at the back. My hat size is large enough that the pucker is minimal for this one. However, I do wish it were easier to find properly sized caps. I would not have this comment if I had just driven back.

It's been a while since I had a flat cap, but this works great and looks great. The elastic on the back allows it to stretch quite a bit, at least another full size, I believe. I'm very happy with the fit. There are some minor defects, but I can live with them since I plan on beating this hat up a bit. I've already put an iron-on on top and it took it very well and looks awesome. For the price, this is an awesome deal.

I purchased this hat as part of a birthday present for my dad. He loves this style of cap. We searched through half a million stores looking for this style but couldn't find them anywhere until I thought of checking on Amazon. YAY for Amazon!My dad loves this cap and wears it often. He says it fits him very well and is comfortable.I appreciate that it has a moisture wicking sweatband as my dad does a lot of manual labor outside and it gets pretty hot down here in Georgia. The hat itself seems to be very well made and the fabric is durable.I'm happy with this purchase!
