Lupins First Great CG Adventure
I just want to thank everyone involved in this project from the scriptwriters, animators, directing, and cast. Getting the cast I grew up with returning for this was a wish come true. Thank you all for the time, effort, energy, and money it took to bring this all to life. The performances are so solid and the animation. Man, you know it seems when anime designs convert to a 3rd Dimension something is lost but so much of that Monkey Punch style is still captured. The expression and body language of the characters are insanely well done. The only noticeable criticism is one that is unavoidable which is with any foreign language animated CGI film is dubbed. The reality is because CGI is made to capture that real movement of lips to speak the native tongue when it's dubbed in English the lipsync is a bit comically off, but that's not really that big a deal. Once you settle in for this adventure your mind will hardly pick up on it.This is a fun film, fun story, fun animation it's fun personified and it brought back the talent that's been playing the characters for near 20 years and that was even more delightful. Would highly recommend picking this flick up.The hard metal case collector's edition comes with a tiny flimsy art book, not too special, really it's a bit of a downer since I love art books and the paper quality is rather cheap. So really it comes down to "is it worth the cash". I certainly think for the case it's not too a bad investment. Just use personal judgment on whether it's worth the expense. I rarely buy DVDs now, gotta tighten the belt and such given the current pandemic and all, so this was just a sort of gift to me because I do adore Lupin as a character and as a franchise.

One of the first well made cgi anime endeavors
You may not already know him, but after seeing him you’ll be sure to love him. Lupin the third has been going on for over 50 years strong and this cgi movie is a testament to the longevity of that. It’s fun and charming and requires no prior knowledge of the franchise to make the most out of one’s viewing experience, as is the case with the majority of the franchise, but this films works to celebrate some of the finer aspects to engage new and old fans alike, being a good candidate for the “first” part of someone’s collection. It’s a good pick for newcomers and with the new animation style it’s not at all something a veteran fan would regret. This steel book is a wonderful tie in to the plot important diary that the story revolves around too and it always feels good to see someone put in the extra effort into a release for one of my favorite franchises.

As beautiful a Steelbook as the Film itself!
I absolutely love this movie and would give it more stars if I could! While the story may not be considered the world's greatest, the animation is some of the best I've seen to date and creative; outperforming even bigger animation studios, in my opinion. The fluidity of the characters and the expressions are next level and I find myself re-watching this movie again and again to soak in all the details I missed prior, or simply because I love it so.It's definitely worth the price, especially for the steelbook! And whether you prefer the English or original language, I'm sure you'll find yourself wanting to watch it again, too!A great film for all and a fun one, to boot~!

The media could not be loaded. Disc in good condition, just a little chemical casing, probably from shipping, I'm not sure

Lovely Steel Box
I am a pretty big fan of Lupin, so we will see if I can take the CGI because I am more a hand drawn type of fan when it comes to anime but if the story is good than I will come back to let you know if it is worth the five I am giving it because rarely do I dislike Lupin movies or series.
