Depends on what you are after
This is really a tough cd to review. The disc is truly for collectors. IF you are a girl group, or collector of each of the individuals presente,d it is a good cd. If you are only a Marcie fan, you would be better off, with the Marcie Seville CD. The quality on that one far surpasses the sound on this one. If you are seeking the best quality of Bobby's Girl, seek out a DCC cd called Too Cute. Its old at this point, but of the 20 odd versions I have of Bobby's Girl, that cant be beat.As far as the quality of the other Blaine tracks, nothing comes close to the quality of the hit, but there is some other songs of interest. Tracey Dey is the big find here. She never had a real hit, but that doesn't stop her stuff presented here to be top notch. The sound quality is not very good, but given the rareness of this stuff it doesn't matter. A few of the tracks can be found on other compilations, with variying quality. Unfortunately, the 2 best tracks her, Gonna Get Along, and Didn't Ya, are fairly poor quality, but, these are the only versions available (Gonna Get along is on, another cd, but the quality is even worse). If you are interested in girl group sounds, and want to hear a definitely shoulda been, seek out Tracey Dey. As far as MArcie, I would stick with the Seville recordings cd. I spent about 23 dollars on this cd, and don't regret it at all. The unfortunate part, is I feel the need to seek out better quality versions of these non hits. Try listening to Gonna Get along, or Didn't ya, or Teenage Clea, and tell me these should not have been big hits.
