This set is for kids ages 8+. Parental supervision is definitely a must. That being said, my grandson started with the beginner set (a very wise thing to do in my opinion, to assess interest and capability - no sense getting him something that would frustrate him so much as not to be fun and interesting). He will be 6 in early September, and has an incredible knack for circuitry. I got this for him for his sixth birthday, with the approval of his parents. His folks let him open it early (which I was glad of). The very next morning, he got started. Within an hour, my son and daughter-in-law sent me a video of him demonstrating the first project. I do remind you that (all partiality aside - haha) does have an uncanny knack for this, and the projects he works on are done with parental supervision (which is a must - I cannot state this enough). What a great STEM learning device!!!

I bought this for my 8 year old nephew for Christmas. It perfectly coincides with what he is currently learning in school. He loves it! Provides hours and hours of entertainment. This is the same set as the Junior set... just with the added benefit of a handy case. The case is a must have to keep all those little parts from getting lost!

Great educational activity for kids to play with. Purchased these for our son for Christmas and he loved them. The whole Christmas break he was creating all the different circuits they have in the book that is included and has now created some of his own. We will probably order another kit just so he can create even more circuits.

Purchased for my granddaughter and friend to learn a little about electricity. They are 4rth and 3rd graders. It was very easy to explain since I have an electrical background and they enjoyed the different models. We even broke out a multimeter so they could see the power drops at various points.

My 8 yr old loves this set. My only suggestion is to purchase the solar power kit. Otherwise, you will be missing your remote batteries!
