I typically wear a senior large and ordered an XL. It wouldn’t fit over my head let alone my beer league hockey gut. ;)

Do not buy this!
First this is for lacrosse, not hockey as advertised. Second, it does not have meet the NOCSAE standard, ND200 requirement for chest safety. Your child could get seriously hurt. Less important, but still worth mentioning, I bought this for my hockey player, learned from our coach (after the return window closed) that this is not for hockey. So I took it to the sports swap/used store to get the pads I need for hockey and they couldn't even take it as trade in because it's required they only sell pads that meet the NOCSAE standard, ND200. It will have an emblem on it if it does and this product does not. Steer clear.
