When you can't reach your keys from behind the couch or desk.
It's a great little tool to pick up metal things in hard to reach areas. The magnet is fairly strong, even if you're just trying to get a pen with a metal ball point out from a hard to reach area. I haven't used it for much yet, but I can imagine it being a life saver in those rare scenarios. For a mechanic or engineer who is constantly dropping their screws or tools on a regular, this is probably an epic tool for them.

Great gift for anyone that works on cars
I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. He is always working on our vehicles. With that he is always dropping small things such as bolts, etc. These tools are very handy. The flashlight make it easier to see what you are looking for and the magnet helps to pick it up. Nice gift for the man in your life

Very good product but batteries needed replacing
The magnet was quite strong, especially the one with the light, and the light was good in dark areas. I really like this product overall and use if for other things like as a pointer or to see down holes!The valid complaint of some others is that it did not work out of the box, the batteries were obviously old. I replaced them for $2.50 and cleaned a little bit and everything worked great . I think adding $2.50 to the cost of the item still makes it a better deal than others I saw on line. Not good as a gift though.

Let there be light!
I bought this for my son. He works as a tire tech and wants to be a mechanic. He said it was the best gift he received and felt it was incredibly useful. He said it was just the right size and it really sticks well. Considering buying one for my brother who works on his own motorcycles. Great way to shine some light hands free!

Very helpful！
The sturdiness and ability to stretch and reach in tight places was very helpful. Also the flashlight on the end is an awesome feature since crews，nuts and bolts that get dropped tend to fall into deep，dark pockets or corners that are difficult to see. It has come in handy as I installed a new car stereo in my van and one of the screw fell into the dash.
