Repair Clips - Fix Loose Outlets and Switches - Electrical Wall Box Repair Clips - 10 Pack

I had a loose outlet and this worked exactly as it needed too. I needed to bend the edges apart to fit around the edge of the box, but it took 5 minutes to repair it from start to finish.

I do apartment maintenance. It's not unusual to find broken junction boxes, and it makes it difficult to attach the switch or outlet. This is a perfect repair for those broken boxes. I'll be buying more.

The Box Doctor worked, but, it was a struggle.. Lots of post-install sore fingers.The clips did not 'slide easily' over my box. Took lots of pushing, and pre-prying the box doctor clips and attempting to pre-stretch them. It feels as if the middle channel of the clips is slightly too small, at least for my box who is installed under some kitchen tile.With that said tho, my box is now fixed. A more expensive complete box replacement (and overlaying tile work) is avoided.The pictures below show:a) Before Installb) With first Box Doctor Clip installed on left side (was very difficult) - this install required clips on both sides.c) Prior to closing.d) All fixed.I'm guessing / hoping other boxes may be easier..The Box Doctor comes with 10 clips; and like I mentioned above this repair required both sides. Was ready to tear out a junction box with a broken off bottom bolt hole. The socket and faceplate did not sit flush to the wall and is located where it was obvious. Wasn't looking forward to the job because I've "been there before" and know how difficult rewiring a box can be when three feed wires are jammed into a single junction box. Then I found Box Doctor shown on a YouTube video. Bought a box and had it by Prime Two Day. Clipped one onto the bottom edge of the junction box, screwed the socket tight into position and replaced the faceplate! Wow! Wish I had known of Box Doctor before as I have just completed upgrade of our second story and had cut out two other boxes before I found the product. I'm telling friends!

Depending on the type of electrical box you have, you may find like myself, that this works only on boxes that do not have any lips, or molding of any kind around the box. In one case, the box's own molding that had the stripped out screw was too big for this clip to hold on. In other cases, the walls of the box (old style bacalite) were too thick and the clip wouldn't stay on. In other words, I found myself replacing the whole box rather than use these.

I'm always amazed to find a product that solves my problem just perfectly and this is one of them. My 80s condo has outlet boxes whose plastic has become incredibly fragile and the screw holes just dissolve. These little clips slot in perfectly and let me attach the outlet securely. They're expensive, but definitely worth their price.
