I have a pretty decent assortment of self massage tools (lacrosse balls, theragun, foam roller, massage sticks, etc.) but this thing hits a few areas that nothing else gets to the same way.I bought this as kind of a dual-purpose tool to hit a couple specific areas.1: My hips. Over the years my hips have gotten so insanely tight. Went from being able to do backflips and splits as a kid, to not even being able to put an ankle on a knee to sit in the classic “figure 4” position. With this, I lay on my back and put it on one of my hips, with that leg in a figure 4. The pain and release is legitimately almost orgasmic at times. It hurts in a way that I can tell my body REALLY needs it. I slowly and gently roll around trying to find the real trigger point and, when I hit it, I focus on that area and breathe deeply for a few minutes. I can feel my hips and lower back release and relax into it as I start to tolerate the pain and focus on my breath. I spend about 5 minutes on each hip and it really does the trick.This ball is SUPER hard though, so if you’re not into hard, rough textures, maybe start with the orange version of this ball, which has more give. At first I kinda wished I’d purchased the softer one, but I’ve gotten used to the hard density.2: I wanted to target my psoas without spending $80 on the pso-rite or something similar with only 1 practical use. Lacrosse balls and foam rollers can’t really get to that area and the theragun is pretty uncomfortable in that spot.This ball gets to the psoas and, judging by how violent the pain is, does a good job. I’ve never tried a psoas-specific device, so I can’t compare it to one, but this is large enough to get there, without being too large. Might be a little tougher to get to the spot on somebody with smaller proportions though (I’m 6’ tall).Also works wonders on calves and feet.Again, this ball can feel pretty heinous if you’re not used to this type of pain and release, so the orange version might be better for some people. It has also left slight purple bruising on my butt the next day from using it on my hips. And not even really bruising, just little purplish-red spots in a weird pattern, I couldn’t tell what it was for a minute but my girlfriend realized what it was. I don’t get those spots anymore though.Overall, this is definitely worth the $27 or so I spent on it. I use it almost daily. Definitely going to buy the orange version too.

I wanted something smaller than the foam roller I bought a while ago. Saw this ball at a good price and decided to get it. I am not disappointed. It has greatly improved the trigger points and knots in my hip and lower back. It sounds cliché, but this ball has truly been a game changer for me in just the short time I've had it.

This ball has changed my life. Seriously.I’m a soccer player and used to have intense hamstring/hip pain for days after I played. From lots of reading, I learned that small muscles in your glutes pull on other muscles and cause pain. Some days I could barely sit in a chair.Just from rolling my lower body, I can sit comfortably most of the time and still enjoy my favorite sport. This is the purest quality of life improvement you can get for < $40.

This product is very good. TP should make a harder one before someone beats them to it.

This is a great tool for mobility. It is hard with ridges to help dig into muscle knots. It released A LOT of tension in my piriformis with my first use - even after regularly massaging this area. My new favorite mobility tool! It is well worth the price.

Have used multiple Trigger Point items and this one is by far the best for my hip issues. Very easy to take with me place to place

Bought to bring with me to travel to the Berlin Marathon from the US. Perfectly travel size, fit in my carry-on nicely, and helped with my pre- and post-race rolling work. Highly recommend for serious runners who travel often for races.
