a delicous reliable green tea that i now drink daily
I've purchased this excellent tea twice now, and drink it as my regular daily tea. With care in your brewing (different temperatures - not to mention vessels - will produce different results), the umami is rich and round, with a good freshness and refreshing honeysuckle-orchid sweet notes. Brew 1 tsp for 12 ounces water at a lower temperature (150F) for longer (3-5 min) to develop a deeper body, a buttery complex blue-green liquor that would indeed fall into the classic description of liquid jade. Brew a little less than 1 tsp faster at a higher temperature (160-170F) for increased brightness or acidity (not to be confused with sourness). You can get two brews via each of these ratios as long as you use slightly hotter water, and longer steeping each time. For even additional flavor, try preparing in a traditional clay kyusu: the iron-rich red clay removes unwanted astringency from higher-temperature brews while extending the umami and vibrancy.

Delightful!
Beautiful green tea. Sweet, fresh, complex smell in the bag, brews a gorgeous jade green with a fresh, sweet, mild, non-swampy, amazing green flavor. As with any nice Japanese green tea, don't use water that's too hot, or you'll end up with pea green hay water. This tea is one of two absolute favorites of mine, now, and I'm a tough customer! I get a nice couple of brewings out of each serving.

Asatsuyu green, good flavor
It imparts a full body flavor with no bitter aftertaste. The only negative is its price for the amount of tea you get. To be more precise, I did put a heaping tablespoon of tea leaves to make two to three cups, depending on how strong you like you tea.

Hard to find cultivar, very delicious!
This tea is delicious, I am a big sencha drinker and seek out tea based off of their cultivars. The Asatsuyu cultivar is hard to find but is my favorite of all of them! Despite this tea being a 2019 harvest it is delightfully fresh and full bodied. It is a Chumushi (medium steamed) and has a great flavor profile. I just purchased a second bag of this tea!

Expensive but worth it.
Best loose green tea I have had, but also most expensive. Sublime flavor and color makes a delightful glass of iced green tea.
