The media could not be loaded.  It really needs direct sun which will be tricky when the sun moves and it doesn't like to pump the full height of the pipe. You get what you pay for and as a cheap little pump, when the sun is right on it, it works well.

The media could not be loaded.  I actually ordered this in error, as I meant to buy an air pump for a newly set-up pond containing rescued frog spawn. I was worried that this would quickly become blocked with sediment from the pond, and that the solar panel was far too small. I've so far been proved wrong. You need to accept this is a tiny unit, and would probably suit a bird bath rather than a pond. However, I glued the pump into a small plastic box (no lid), then, in a bid to prevent sediment getting through to the motor, I stretched a sock over the whole thing, weighted it all with stones, and placed it in the pond on a shallow ledge. Since then, it has kept working during daylight. Even on just a dry cloudy day, the fountain is pushing out regular bursts of water (every five seconds or so). When full sun hits the solar panel, you have a small but vigorous little continuous fountain. When you look at the price, this really isn't bad at all. Mini solar panels of today can obviously push out a lot more power than in years gone by.

Living in England the cloudy weather means that the flow of water can be quite intermittent and sometimes there isn't enough power to get it all the way up the tube, but for the price I'm really happy with it. You get what you pay for, but I found this to be better than I expected.

Easy to install but could do with a weighted pump. Cuts out for no reason several times a day when in direct sunlight but runs enough for the small water feature I need it for. Ok for the price
