Quality construction for the price!
The build quality, fit & finish are very good for the price. After looking at mine very carefully, I found that it was well made and safe to use. No issues. You have to be extremely careful - as many of these low-cost instruments are very cheaply made and could land you in the hospital in seconds!

Warning: This will pinch you badly.
Very sloppily constructed. Everything is loose and has lots of play. If you accidentally let it close all the way before removing it, it will pinch your insides quite badly. Very dangerous, do not use.

Not Bad at all, but the attachment screws tend to become loose and it's a bit tricky to reassemble.
Great quality. Does the job.

It's ok
It does what it says it does, but the bottom prong is loose, and it sometimes jams when expanding. There are various pinch hazards, such as on the grips when squeezing it, and on the prongs when closing. I'd advise not allowing it to fully close when inserted and rather to slide it out when mostly closed to avoid a internal pinch. The mechanism used to expand it has a bit of sharp metal on it, but the prongs are smooth and have no sharp edges.

Be careful.
Bottom blade seems sloppy an lose. One blade has a deep scratch witch can hurt. Have to put a codum on it can't complain it was cheap. You may want to pay more for something like this to be safe.

Could be a bit better made but still fun
It pinches a little, and the set screw to hold it open is tricky to operate alone but still wonderful for the price

Flawed
Yes it is a rectal speculum, yes it is metal, and yes it opens. The screw was bent, the bottom prong does not seat flush against the other 2 which can cause damage to a person. Also, the screws used to keep the springs spread was bent. Not high quality at all! Do your self a favor and spend more on a quality one.

Not worth the savings
Cheap. I don't trust it not to pinch. You get what you pay for. Splurge for the medical grade ones
