Orange is the New Black Season 7 [DVD] [2020]

Have no idea why this has negative reviews. This an amazing final season sum up of a ground breaking show. The stories are all brought to conclusion realistically. The idea of bringing ICE and Dept. Of Homeland Securty into the prison story was brilliant and takes some well deserved shots at a fast becoming fascist system in the USA

I was disappointed by series 5 which focussed on riots and prisoner takeover of a disused area which resulted in death of a prisoner and guard. As a result, series 6 picked up on the repercussions as inmates are moved to other penal facilities and those deemed responsible for the death of the guard are brought to justice. This final series explores the recurring characters and themes. The corrupt prisoner/guard relationship is further examined along with the corporate exploitation of prison facilities and private sector attitudes to profit and cost cutting. Former wardens roles change along with their relationships and after Piper’s early release, the difficulties of an ex con are highlighted. Overall, for me the weakest series was 5, but 6 and now this final series bring all main characters to conclusion. As viewers, we begin to understand differences between lifers, deportees under the immigration system(seriously scary) and the rest. It’s funny, challenging but most importantly, it highlights injustice and inequality in many ways. Fascinating, compelling and thought provoking. Complex plotting, humour and some scenes involving illegal immigrants brought me close to tears. I have little doubt their plight is an accurate reflection of today’s USA and other countries. It’s powerful stuff.

Great series it's a shame that it's the last

There's WAY too much Piper and the comedy is a bit overdone at times but overall it's a good conclusion to the story. Excellent ensemble cast, as always.

The continuity is brilliantly crafted right to the end. I found myself really caring about each character; and appreciated the back stories of the well written individuals.

On the edge over my seat watching them play out this story. Has it all am sad its over

I was a huge fan of earlier seasons; However, whilst it had the odd good(-ish) moment, this season was an immense disappointment. Incoherent tosh

Im Hühnerstall steppt zum letzten Mal der Bär. Die Karma-Card (sündige jetzt - bezahle in alle Ewigkeit) aller Beteiligten glüht. Happy End war gestern, heute gibt es metoo und Abschiebung im Akkord. Amerika - das Land der unbegrenzten Verunmöglichung. So manche Demenz könnte sich als gnädige Fügung des Schicksals herausstellen.
