Converted 3 x 9 to this beast, and love it!
No doubt, this IS 2020 Shimano Deore 11 Speed Components. Deore ranks 8/11 in their lineup, so it's not cheap stuff. I have a 2012 Gravity FS bike with a 3 x 9 setup. This kit fit perfect and improved my shifting and performance on even the first ride. Installed in about an hour. Oh & you'll need the Shimano cassette removal tool and some kind of chain whip.

All the parts are legitimate Deore. No cable housing included.
I used this set to replace my factory Deore 10-speed (11-46) groupset because I wanted to change my chainring from a 30t to a 32t to gain a higher top-end. The 51t cog allowed me to still maintain my climbing ratio while gaining the top-end speed. Everything was in perfect condition and installed with no issues. The only thing I did not like was the cable housing was not included. There were just two small sections included, presumably for open cable systems. My system is fully closed and runs internally through the frame. The change in derailleur required about 2 extra inches of housing resulting in a complete housing replacement. Not a tremendous issue, but definitely an unplanned and inconvenient one.

Clutched derailleur is an awesome upgrade from 3x9. Make sure to turn it on.
TLDR;The derailleur has a clutch, but it’s turned off by default. The lever is tough to spot once it’s turned “on.” The clutch eliminates chain bounce.Make sure to get a narrow-wide chainring up front; you won’t regret it. No chain guide and still no chain drops! This kit actually worked perfectly on my kid’s circa 2005 Specialized Enduro 26er. I was worried the derailleur would extend too low towards the rim, but it tucks in quite neatly.I tried using the original 32t middle chainring from the 3X, but it wanted to come off at both ends of the range. I got a chain guide to work well enough, but the real breakthrough was changing to a Narrow-Wide chainring, make especially for 1x setups. They are magic for this application; no more chain drops, no graininess in either direction, and the chain guide is no longer needed.I couldn’t be any happier with this kit. A massive upgrade and a tremendous value.

Great upgrade package
I upgraded my 7 speed cassette to get lower gears for trail rides and after some research came across this package. Only thing you need is to replace the hub and resize the chain but everything else is taken care of. Shifting is crisp, smooth and now my bike keeps up with everyone else. Price for the kit is reasonable and quality is great - I highly recommend

The clutch derailleur is a must for serious riding
my budget bike had an Acera derailleur on it before — it eventually beat itself to death as I learned to ride faster. I transformed my bike from that 3x8 drivetrain to 1x11 with this. This is my first clutch derailleur and wow what a difference. It is silent even when banging across a rock garden. I paired this cassette to a 30t chainring… keep in mind you’ll need to remove some links from the chain with a simple chain break tool… I had to remove about 10 links. Then just watch park tool’s video on how to tune your derailleur, and it will shift like butter.
