I bought this for research on vintage jewelry and I am satisfied with this book. Great pictures

This is a lovely book to view if your into old Jewelry.This book features Costume Jewelry and does it ever show it off !!Very few to no repeats of anything seen in other books...Divided by years and manufactures.I highly suggest this volume for any collectors or jewelry lovers whos path it crosses.Stunning dosen't say enough !

Good pictures came quickly

Wow. The quality of the pictures in this book leaves a lot to be desired. There are shadows in every single picture. There is dim light. The few pieces that you know ARE stunning in real life just look meh here. No pictures of the backs or hallmarks of course-I don't know why so many jewelry books leave that out.Taste is subjective- but there is another review that states this book certainly doesn't represent "The best", and I thought that was kind of harsh/judgy-the author simply had different taste than that reviewer. Now that I have looked through the entire book myself-I heartily agree! These pieces are 90 percent plain. Not the best examples at all-especially for Miriam Haskell- the selection of jewelry they chose to represent Haskell is confounding. I will of course keep this book for an extra visual reference as I collect and sell vintage jewelry, but it will never be in my top 10 of costume jewelry books.

Very well written and researched with fabulous photos. I have all of Nancy Schiffer's jewelry books. Would highly recommend them to any jewelry collector!
