Finally, a quality motion sensor for z-wave; great with Vera3
The Aeon 4-in-1 sensors are a twisted joke (as with many Aeon products, it seems). I've had to write custom Luup code for them just to get them to refresh, and the motion sensing is horrific, with daily false alarms even at the lowest sensitivity setting. I've relegated them for use only for their humidity sensing. This Schlage motion sensor is perfectly reliable with the Vera3 (I'm on UI5) and opens up an enormous range of options by 1. triggering 100% of the time when there is human motion and 2. not spamming off tons of false alarms (false positives).I've been able to add them reliably by:0. Choose pet sensitivity, if needed, using the pre-installed black jumper on the sensor's circuit board (the factory default is small pet immunity, which is fine for most)1. Firing up the Vera3 web interface2. Click on Devices->Add Devices3. Click on first option to add where you are instead of using the Vera3 battery pack4. Put in the 3v lithium battery into the Schlage motion sensor immediately5. _Motion_sensor should appear in the Vera3 interface, click through to finish and rename if desired. Click the red "Save" in the upper right corner6. Go into Devices->All and find the new motion sensor. Click into Settings and click on "Configure node right now"7. It should be all set at that point.I've installed 3 of these sensors without any problems and no false alarms. They aren't as advanced as, say, a Honeywell Dual-Tec microwave+PIR sensor, but they also cost half as much and seem to be reliable, and, most importantly, are for z-wave!Perhaps someday someone will make a Dual-Tec comparable z-wave motion sensor, but these seem to work well.

Works, but lots of issues
I bought the Schlage Home Motion Sensor to work with the rest of my Nexia system, especially my camera. I have an indoor camera, which I aim outdoors through a window. Unfortunately, it doesn't have motion-sensing technology.I placed this motion sensor about seven feet off the ground so it can activate my camera when someone enters my courtyard. At first, I placed it facing the street, to sense people as they entered. I'm not sure if it was the sun or the movement of the trees or what, but my sensor was being triggered constantly. No, I was there and did not see cars or people or pets passing by.I set the sensor to be less sensitive, but that didn't help, so I moved it to face the opposite direction, towards the door. That's better, but there is a lag between when the sensor is triggered and when the camera starts recording, so I often miss seeing the person who entered the yard. My phone does notify me there was someone there, and I can see if the porch has packages, so it's doing what I really want it to do: let me know when the UPS man comes. It will most likely miss a criminal's face. The sensor is mounted onto a bracket that can be screwed in or taped on. I skipped both options and used Scotch Command Strips. Either way, the sensor is made to be easily removed, although it will trigger an alert if someone tries to open it up. I don't think anyone but a vandal would do that, because the sensor looks like a cheap lighting system.Speaking of cheap, the plastic feels cheap. I think if I pried it open enough times (we do that to change the batteries or settings), it might eventually break. There ought to be a better way of building it so we don't have to pry it open.Lastly, I get way too many text messages when the motion sensor is triggered. Each event gives me at least ten messages. I could do well with just one.Yes, there are annoyances, but the system works, which is why I'm not returning it.

Not useful for my scenario where it is detecting motion outside ...
It is very sensitive to sunlight transitioning to clouds and vice versa. Not useful for my scenario where it is detecting motion outside my front door -- too many false alerts and videos of a bright sunny front porch. Works fine at night of course.

Schlage motion detector is not interoperable with VeraLite: can't use Veralite "bypass" command to temporarily disable
I purchased this Schlage Motion Detector with a VeraLite Home Controller.I successfully paired the Schlange Motion Detector (sold on Amazon as "Schlage RS200HC V N N SL Home Motion Sensor") (and on the back of the device described as Model: "PIRZWAVE1", Product Name "Zwave PIR Sensor") with my VeraLite. The Motion Detector is successfully detecting motion, and I got notification emails and texts from the VeraLite Controller. However, when I try to use the VeraLite Portal to stop motion detection, which I will want to do when people are in the home, it does not work.I go to the VeraLite web portal, in the <Devices> menu item, the "_Motion Sensor" device is listed, with the option to select <Arm> or <Bypass>.When I select <Bypass>, it does not have any affect: when I create motion, I still get an alert.I also notice that the install instructions include a "Test Tamper Indication" section which recommends to check whether the Tamper Indication alerts are working. "If you remove the cover, the Schlange motion detector sends an alert to the Nexia Bridge." However, out of the box the VeraLite does not receive and display this alert when I deliberately remove the cover after pairing. The Veralite does not include this as an alert option in the <Notifications> menu, "Add Notification For" section. So it seems it can't be manually added, without more in depth knowledge of the VeraLite, and i couldn't find anything on the VeraLite blog or manual. It looks like this device is only going to work properly with Schlange's own Nexia Bridge controller (i.e. it's "Zwave" but "proprietary", and not with the VeraLite. It's a little short sighted of Shlage to limit the functionality of their device to their own controller, I don't think anyone who purchases the VeraLite will got to Schlage's Nexia monthly billing model when there are other devices which do have a more 'open source' approach to interoperability with the VeraLite and Zwave in general. I will be returning it.
