Had issues but ring support was great!
I love Ring and their products! so why the bad review? Glad you asked. Let me explain. I am literally a walking poster boy for Ring, since the Doorbot and before Shark tank I was All in. I own every single Ring product, I’m not kidding. The Ring indoor camera, while at a Great Price point and small form factor to compete with up and comers Wyze cam, this model is Flawed! You can read it in the reviews I have video proof! I currently have many security cams protecting my home 10 of which are Ring and the New indoor cam is only one giving me issues! It constantly disconnects from my EERO WI-FI network and is the ONLY cam to do so. All other ring cams and cams from other MFR have ZERO disconnects! This Ring indoor cam is about 6ft from my router Shows an EXCELLENT RSSI of -29 and yet it will disconnect at least 5 times a day, or more! What will happen is the cam will detect motion then crash and emit audio static via speaker and in app show Wi-Fi connection Is lost. This crash lasts about 30 seconds before it reboots automatically. Or I can manually reboot by unplugging and replug in the camera if I am in area during the crash. This makes the camera unreliable for home security! During the day the picture quality is excellent, the audio quality is good, night vision is really clear as well. I do have a complaint if you use the color night vision option in settings it adds a purplish hue to video color at night. Before you say “it’s a problem with camera placement such as Wi-Fi dead zone”...I would like to add that where I currently have the new ring indoor camera I had a wired ring stick up cam 2nd GEN in the exact same spot It NEVER had this issue. I moved the ring stick up cam 2nd GEN to my garage and while further away from my router with an RSSI of -41 the stick up cam now in my garage never drops. So as for new Ring indoor cam If not for the constant disconnects this would be a very nice camera to add to the Ring portfolio but in its current state I would say stay away. ***UPDATE 11/20/19*** the Ring indoor cam FINALLY DIED! It’s still had the same Wi-Fi disconnect issues, and the same static issues but late last night it started to show a black screen only would not show any video. attempts to unplug and replug did not help. so I tried to remove from the Ring app reset the device and set it up again. it was stuck on a permanent red LED and was nonresponsive the good news is ring is taking care of me in the sending me a new replacement. ***Update 12/4/19*** Well my ring camera did have some pretty serious issues I will say that after ring got in touch with me they were quick to resolve the issue my replacement was brand new and has zero flaws in it whatsoever so it seems I just got a bad camera as the new replacement seems to be working great no disconnect whatsoever!

Support is the Star of This Product
There are so many who are far more intelligent than me about technical aspects of a video product. I really am a novice when it comes to these things. By and large, the Ring video products all seem to be excellent to my untrained eyes and ears, and this one is no different. Hooked it up, followed the instructions, and it came right up into my existing Ring app with all my other doorbell and camera devices from Ring. But the reason I took the time to come and write a review was because of the tech support we received last night. We got this tiny little indoor cam because I'm going to have a rather extensive surgery soon, and I will not be allowed to go up and down stairs for 2 weeks after. So we're turning our dining room into my recovery bedroom, which is a blessing. But the Hubs doesn't want to come clomping down the stairs making a bunch of noise if I'm asleep. Of course, you can "drop in" using an Alexa device, but that makes noise and requires a response. I mean, "Are you asleep Honey?" isn't a good thing to ask if you want your spouse to stay asleep, right? So we got this little, affordable cam. The Ring account is on my phone, so I wanted to share the camera with the Hubs. We followed the instructions as we believed we should, but it wasn't working. So at 9 p.m. central time, I called the support number, not expecting a whole lot of happy to result. I could not have been more wrong! The gentleman on the other end of the line was patient, professional and very kind. The Hubs and I were both able to hear and understand him perfectly by working on speaker phone, and in less than 10 minutes, he had us up and working as we hoped. It's such a relief when a company hires competent and caring tech support representatives. I thought someone might want to know that this one definitely does.
