Oral-B iO Series 7

Lovely toothbrush, cleans teeth very well, battery last a while.

The new IO toothbrush was recommended by my Dental Hygenist. She recommended the IO4, but I chose the IO7 because it has the magnetic charger and the LED display. I used the Ultimate Clean head. Previously, I had Oral B Smart 6 toothbrush with CrossAction head.I tried the Oral B App on my iPhone to help me get the optimum brush. I found myself brushing longer to get each of the six zones complete. The brushing felt more gentle and it left my mouth feeling more refreshed at the end. I use Oral B Clean Mint toothpaste.The toothbrush wakes up when you pick it up. Checking the battery charge level is a bit of a pain as you need to wake up the toothbrush.I think the IO toothbrush is a definite improvement on the earlier Oral B toothbrushes. The only problem is that it is expensive.

Bought for £150 on sale.Packaging and contents: Very nice and premium. Toothbrush comes with one head. Travel case is adequate and sturdy. Fits toothbrush and two heads. Also has a rubber 2 head holder. Magnetic charger is hefty and shouldn't move about too much.Usage: The charger base needs to be on a flat surface. Mostly possible but i can imagine not always possible when travelling or on some dodgy small sinks. Toothbrush will fall over if not level.The entire toothbrush gets very slippy when wet. This has been a problem since day one. My old toothbrush would froth up the toothpaste and it would all stay in my mouth where as this turns it watery because of the intense oscillation. It tends to dribble down if not held comepletely upright. I have read some other reviews that say the same thing. After usage you will have to rinse off the entire toothbrush. Can be a bit annoying. Also think they could have incorperated some textured surfaces onto the handle or some rubber but overall not a big thing.Very well built and sturdy, cleaning is excellent. Charge will hold atleast 10 days from my current estimation.Pack of 4 replacement heads can be had for roughly £26. The normal daily clean ones can be a little hard on the gums at first so can recommend getting the gentle ones over these if you have gum problems. I have found the bristles kind of soften (2 weeks' usage)Summary: Overall a very nice toothbrush/ Would not recommend either the io8 or io9 over this as the 5 modes are completely adequate. The only thing the io9 has over this are two more modes (useless) and the 3d tracking. Also comes with a usb travel case. The i08 has one more cleaning mode. And the two others both have color displays. Upto you. Not worth the extra money imo Also i dont think this is worth anything above £150 so if you are debating buying above that price please wait a bit for a sale. (i would say this toothbrush would be much better priced at £120-£130)1 star deduction for the ergonomics, the price of the replacement heads and the base having to be flat.

Works well and not noisy. Really easy to use and amazing at cleaning teeth compared to my older models. It looks great and a smiley face when I cleaned for long enough. Connection to app easy but note sure if I really need that part because generally don’t clean teeth with phone nearby. Battery lasts a long time and good value for money due to quality

Even having to charge this every 5 days or so, it's the best electric toothbrush I've ever owned & worth every penny. Cleans my teeth better than the standard toothbrushes ever did & I even use the clever app everyday.

Before spending £150 on this, look at reports for oral b io toothbrush battery issues, I wish I had. Within two years, the battery completely died. I was able to claim under uk warranty laws, and Oral-b replaced the battery, which took around a month. Fast forward two years, and the battery, has suddenly died again. From full charge to dead, in around 15 seconds of usage. This is not great for such an expensive toothbrush.In addition to this, oral b io toothbrush heads suffer from rapid black mould buildup in their heads, which is extremely unhygienic! I shake out the head after every use and hang it up to dry, but still the mould builds up inside. A tap on the sink after a week, and huge amounts of mould come out. I would not reccomend this to anyone. Apparently Philips sonnicare do not suffer from this issue, so I will be going with Philips in the future, and chalking the Oral B IO as an expensive mistake.
