Ferrous fumarate is the formula my physician recommended. I was glad this did not cause me any stomach or GI upset. I have placed this on automatic order.... BUT have been notified it is out of stock. So I am hoping it comes back in stock.

I had seriously low iron saturation and my doctor recommended this because regular iron supplements eventually cause my intestines feel like rocks are inside. This iron supplement does not male that happen. It took about two weeks for me to feel the effects but that is to be expected.

Loved that it did not make me sick

Why an iron supplement? Besides being (according to many researchers) the most common micronutrient deficiency in the world, iron plays a major role in energy levels (via oxygen-carrying hemoglobin in red blood cells), immunity, growth, reproductive system functioning and muscle functioning.Certain forms of supplemental iron are notorious for causing gastric upset and/or constipation. These include ferrous sulfate and ferrous gluconate.Forms of iron that are better tolerated (sometimes marketed as "gentle iron") include ferrous biglycinate, ferric pyrophosphate and this one, ferrous fumarate.Dosage-wise, the daily therapeutic range is around 18-45mg. Iron is one of those supplements you need to be a little more careful with not to take too much (usually >50mg a day). Individuals with hemochromatosis (too much iron in the blood) are usually advised to avoid taking iron supplements (for obvious reasons).

Update on 12/14/18: I just finished my first bottle and I am feeling more energetic. My nails look so much healthier. Anemia is so tricky and so many iron supplements are just trash. I love Swanson and this is the most effective form of iron I have ever taken. I take 2 per day. I am going to order more and will continue taking it after my csection.11/22/18: I've been trying to get my iron up as I'm anemic and I'm pregnant. I cannot tolerate almost any form of iron outside of heme but I also have a red meat and egg allergy. I have tried every kind of gentle iron on the market. I specifically went looking for ferrous fumarate because it's the kind of iron that is in Flintstones and I know that kind works for me because of my last pregnancy. I won't take flintstones anymore because the ingredients are so bad. The best thing about this supplement is it has no fillers or additives and it's not enteric coated so it absorbs better because it releases earlier in your digestive system. I have had 0 stomach problems or constipation since taking this, and I just ordered my second bottle. Make sure you take vitamin c with it.

Easy to take

Before I can't even get outta bed I was tired all the time, simple chores were impossible for me to complete and at work I was always sleepy. I'd tried all kinds of Iron but none of them worked until I found this. I was diagnosed with anemia 4 years ago, and I'm happy to have found something that truly worked. This is my honest review and I honestly recommend this type of Iron.

The last couple times I have tried to order these directly from Swanson...they have been out and on back order, thanks to Covid. I was very happy when Amazon had them...a little more expensive...but I needed them. These are the only type of iron I can take.

Si lo que quieren es un complemento es bueno, pero para combatir la anemia ferropenica no es útil, a mi no me sirvió mucho la verdad... 🤷
