Strange, yet captivating love story.
What an excellent device for describing the society, economic pressures and politics of this era. This is a brilliant novel, although I very much doubt any man of this era would have accepted a constant "no!".

Good book very well written
I really enjoyed this book I found myself putting off jobs I had to do for Christmas just to read a couple more chapters. I shall certainly look for more of Colin's books

Another cracking read from Colin Falconer
I have read probably most if not all of Colin Falconer,s novels and have developed in them all. This is one of his best, he weaves a brilliant tale from known historical facts totally believable enjoyable and compelling.I made a resolution this year to never again waste time on surveys or reviews ,this novel was good enough to make me break it!Thoroughly recommended read.

The fair maid of Kent
This is a brilliant biography of one of the lesser known ladies from history - apart from the legend of Edward lll taking Joan of Kent's garter and creating a new knighthood in its name and being mother to Richard ll she's quite a secretive lady.Life wasn't exactly a bed of roses even for the most aristocratic of ladies - but Joan's life was nothing if not interesting.

A beautiful book
I enjoyed every moment of reading this book. It has twists and turns, and an ending which satisfied me. I really felt for Joan - and her father.
