Has it’s flaws but still worth the money.
I read a lot of reviews on this before I decided to buy it. Here’s my take on it. Seems to be built well. It is solid stainless steel. Mine had no rust in it like some reviews stated. The welds on the mixing paddles of mine don’t have gaps like some review stated. The welds in the exterior are poor but they did get complete penetration through the metal. No gaps on the inside of the mixer but there is some putting in the welds in the outside. This in no way affects the use of the mixer. The only cleanup issue I’ve noticed is where the bearings are attached. There is a slight void that could catch meat. My solution....fill with food grade grease before each use to keep stuff out, Problem solved. My one issue with this mixer and the reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because of the lid. It’s not made good and does not fit good. It’s extremely flimsy. The corners are bent to hold it in place and they don’t. The edges are not cleaned up and are sharp so I could see some accidental cuts from it. Personally I work in a Sheetmetal shop so I’m going to make a new stainless lid to fit the way it should with a 1/2” lip turned down on all 4 sides to Hold it in place. All and all I think it is worth the money compared to the lem brand which is $75 more. I would recommend buying based on my experience. Also, I have a 4 #12 grinders none of which are new(20-30 years old) and everyone fits right up to it with no problems. Just need a little height adjustment.

Works Perfectly
1) Very well built and sturdy. 2) Easy to use and clean. 3) Cost effective. 4) Arrived on time. 5) Well packaged, no shipping damage. My ONLY issue is that it shipped with the wrong size lock screw for the main shaft. I had one in my nuts/bolts/screws collection that worked.

Works good but flimsy
Works good. Holds 25lbs good but unit is pretty flimsy. I have other Haaka products and quality is usually good. This one is just ok

Great entry level mixer
Good food grade product. I bought it to mix small batches of flour. Works great and holds 15 pounds of flour nicely. The crank is geared down to make mixing thick or heavy batches easier. It seems to be a 3:1 gear reduction. Great entry mixer for food grade production. Not the most sturdy piece but I expect it to last a couple of years of heavy use. If you are looking at getting more in to food grade work this is a good starter. Very easy to clean.

What you see is 5kg of sausage meat being evenly blended with a custom attachment over the square drive at the gearbox. Tilt option is nice to have. 10kg is capable but requires lots more effort. Thank you!

What a great machine. It’s easy to clean and take apart. The tilting mechanism makes it easy to remove the meat when done. I wouldn’t call this a 40 lb mixer. At 30 lbs, the mixer tends to push the meet out of the top. Thats where the lid comes in handy but then it is a bit of a rodeo holding down the lid while turning the handle. To speed up mixing I used a socket on the handle shaft and turned it with a portable drill. Worked like a champ.

Cheaply made handle, too small of screws holding the auger in place, tub made with too light of material. Gear box seems ok.
