Seeds and Hands Wayanad Allspice/Jamaica Pepper Whole [Homestead Produce](100g)

Spices should always be purchased whole otherwise by the time they get to us, all the aromatics will have dissipated and you get only a shadow of its real flavour.These whole allspice were fresh and plump looking- quite aromatic even before grinding them.Allspice was a new experience for me- very interesting that something that looks like pepper has fruity notes and has notes of cloves! It was good as a replacement for regular garam masala- added just a quarter tsp of this and a half tsp of fennel powder. Also was good in a chocolate cake I made- a tsp of this enhanced the chocolate without overpowering it.

The allspice seeds areextremely stale so much so some are hollow from inside. Bad on the part of seller for little gainyou have lost a future consumer or may be many more after reading this.

Fresh and strong smelling pepper! I hope next when I order, I am lucky enough to get similar quality produce.

There is no aroma at all. Waste of money. I doubt if it's the real allspice.
