Q: Will this rod work not only with larger rockets, but with smaller rockets as well?

Hello - YES, this large diameter rod will guide smaller rockets, BUT the 1/8 inch rod is better suited for smaller rockets. The 3/16 inch rod is designed for heavier vehicles. The main issue with small rockets using 3/16 inch rod is the launch lug attached to the small body tube. a 3/16 lug is pretty draggy on a small rocket. Hi - depends on the diameter of the rod you are buying. Just take the launch pad to the store with you and test the fit before you buy. Common size are the 1/4" (largest) and the 3/16 (medium) and the smallest (1/8).
