Macho Warrior Clear Face Shield

This straps with velcro to the macho warrior foam martial arts helmet. Might attach to other helmets, but its specifically made for the warrior which does have some extra thick foam and extra large ear protection, so I wouldnt count on it. Its well sized and gives excellent coverage, plus has a nice solid chin plate/pad which helps reduce the warrior helmets lack of chin/lower face protection. The fancy set the martial arts studio sells has a foam chin and the face plate just comes down to that, and what ends up happening is the helmet rides up or to the side and the foam covers the mouth, then you cant breathe. Not a problem with this helmet and face shield, which I think gives about the best head protection you can get at the price point.

I have been sparing for about 10 years and I do not wear a mouth guard cuz they gag me. I got my 5 yr old a shield when he started because kids have no control and I didn't want his face messed up. I finally decided I was too old to get a black eye, broken teeth or busted nose and got myself a face shield too. My sons clear face shield is a better fit for his pro force helmet. The macho warrior helmet is my favorite, but it probably wasn't designed with a face shield in mind. The face shield does not meld into the helmet the way others do; it sits on top of padded parts making it raised off the helmet a bit. That being said it still sits tight and was comfortable. I did not notice any extra weight at all and though there were a few visual issues, I got use to it in one half hou of sparing. With regular use I think I'll stop noticing it in my sight altogether. PS. I let my Sensai punch me in the face just to test it and it was awesome; not a bit of pain.

Got the shield in a timely fashion. The directions for how to put the shield on the helmet were a little light. Thankfully, this is not a difficult process.My previous shield was flater and much closer to my face so this one took some getting used. For a time it seemed like I was fighting from a fish bowl because I was so aware of how much further it extended. There also may be a tiny bit of extra weight that you will have to adjust to.That said, I strongly recommend shields and this one has works very well for me.
