M210JBDC Mechanical, Keyless Deadbolt

I've searched high and low, but there aren't many "all weather" locks. Too bad this one proved to be not all-weather after all. Bought for outdoor use (wooden door for my yard fence, fully exposed to weather on both sides). It froze a lot during winter, and eventually stopped working after less than 1 year (still opens from inside, but combo side no longer works). Bought a second one with the marine grade finish in hopes that maybe it might work better. Nope, just as badly frozen every time temps dip to about -5C or below.

The mechanical lock is reliable and no battery is required. Unfortunately, it appears that to change the combination, you will need to remove the lock from the door. It ia therefore very inconvenient to change the combination. The previous mechanical lock I used does not require removal from the door to change combination which is so much more convenient. If it is not because of this, I would have given 5 stars to this lock.

Despite reading a few concerns expressed by other reviewers, the installation of this lock proceeded as easily as the numerous other dead-bolt locks I have installed over the years. However, it is important to read and follow the instructions carefully, especially if you have never installed a dead-bolt lock before. It appears to be well-made and operates flawlessly. After purchasing, installing, and using this lock on our house entry door, we purchased a second one for our garage entry door, also working perfectly.

Install was mostly an easy thing. New build and needed to notch things a hair. After install and using lock. Smooth. Solid. Holding up to weather. Will test most when the snow flies and temp drops.

I got two, one into a steel door and had to make an insert to work as a spacer between the inside of the door skins to hold them apartOne into a wooden door and the bolt hole that was called for was too small a had to ream out and cut a deep slot ln the upper inner part of the hole to slow the bolt to move freely. In that respect it was not so easy to install

Purchased the double cylinder version. Quality construction that will handle any weather condition without corrosion and no electronic issues. Very good quality

Package was very professional and easy to install. Only thing I didn't know about this lock is that ANY combination of the numbers that you choose will open lock. Example is that if you choose 321 as code - 321, 132, 123, 231, 213 and 312 will open the lock. Other than that - lock works and looks great.

The lock came with two keypads one for each side of the door I also ordered the white one and it was only equipped with one for the outside this seems normal to meThe black one u have to type the code in to lock it from the insideNot very good in my opinion

The locks are great. The finish is just slightly different than the door handle. The shipment arrived in better than anticipated time

Exactly what I was looking for. Great quality and build.

I recommend getting a professional to help install it properly. New door with no holes should be easier but existing holes on metal door is very tricky. Ones installed, its perfect.

So far so good. It was an easy lock to install compared to most. Does really well in -20*C to -30*C. A little smaller from what I was thinking but it does the job.
