El Llano in flames

Short stories of harsh lives and terrain but wonderful Writing
I liked the brevity of the stories they were all harsh and harrowing so the fact that they were so short made them more manageable. There were many descriptive references to the terrain and the foliage - enjoyable. These stories felt like episodes.El Llano or El Llano Grande is the name of the arid, treeless, shrubless, birdless flatland in Jalisco, Mexico, where the stories are set. It’s shown in the relief map on the cover of this translation. From a visual point of view I like the dash dialogue markers makes the page look far less cluttered

Every thing you've heard is true
Introduced to this via 'Pedro Paramo' I was expecting something special and that's what it is.
