This bulb like most fluorescent bulbs and unlike many CFL's requires a ballast which may fail before the bulb. According to Good Earth, the ballast, made in China, is not available in the US anymore.If your existing bulb produces no light, there is a chance that replacing the bulb will work for you. However, if the bulb produces light, but blinks at any rate, your ballast is bad. Junk the lamp. (see video)The bulb was packaged well to protect it from damage. Delivery was on the date promised.Removing the bulb from the lamp is awkward due to the tight fit of the bulb's prongs in the socket, and requires careful, steady forceful pull.
