Easy to use. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to use
This product is wonderful. Easy use and clean up is a breeze. My roast beef and the chicken I’ve made were the best ever. No more buying expensive pre-roasted chicken. It was so moist and crispy. I love this product.

Perfect for us!
I use this all the time! Be sure to actually READ the directions. For example, whole chicken should be max 5lbs and really best be 4lbs or less. Cornish hens work well too. This is a vertical rotisserie. This is not a microwave like some reviewers seem to have thought. It will take the same time as an oven. In fact, I like them better done a bit on the well-done side. Place chicken on cone and press down until it can be slid into the unit. Alternative, the door is removable (also for cleaning). This isn't a super heavy item so it's easy to move around or store on a top shelf or cabinet.

Slower than a crockpot! Don't waste your money!
This rotisserie does not deserve one star, it deserves a negative number of stars! I used this rotisserie for the first time tonight to cook a 4.5lb chicken. I had to trim the neck stub in order for the chicken to fit the height of the rotisserie. After two hours, I finally gave up and cut the chicken up and finished cooking it in the microwave (see pictures). I am so disappointed. I’ve had a Regal rotisserie for 18 years and could cook a six pound chicken in 40 minutes. The door wasn’t closing tight anymore and it was taking longer to cook so I decided it was time for a new one. What a mistake! I’m glad I hadn’t thrown it out. I could have roasted the bird in the oven for the time it was taking in the rotisserie. Other issues include a very small grease pan, no way to easily remove the chicken from the tray. I used the hook that came with my old rotisserie but it was difficult because the door doesn’t open at the top enough to reach in to lift the bird. This could be dangerous with the hot grease under the bird. The rotisserie came with skewers and a basket but the manual did not mention those items so you are left guessing how to assemble and use them. My recommendation—Don’t waste your money! UPDATE: I received a response from someone pretending to be from NutriChef but the phone number belongs to a company, Pyle Audio in NYC. I see that others got a response asking the to email someone at Pyle Audio. These messages are NOT from NutriChef so contact at your own risk. If you want to contact NutriChef, go to their website for a number. I am including the suspicious responses here. This was the message I got--"Hello first let me apologize for any frustration you experienced due to our product, I am very familiar with our NutriChef PKRT16BK Vertical Countertop Rotisserie and I assure you, I will troubleshoot and solve your issue or get you a new working replacement right away. Please email me directly at [email protected] or call 718-535-1800 extension 344".Other messages to other buyers--"I work for NutriChef, I would love to troubleshoot and solve your issue or get you a working unit? Please email me directly at [email protected]". Further update: even after my warning about the scam comments, I got a comment from someone offering to troubleshoot for me saying he was from Nutrichef but at a gmail account. Really??? Nutrichef has their own website, they don't use gmail. Are these scam responses automated? why do they keep popping up? If you have a problem with your rotisserie, just return it to amazon, don't be sucked into giving your information to a scammer.

Uneven cooking of whole chicken
Several issues with cooking a whole chicken: You need to ensure the chicken is small enough to fit inside of the unit and not hitting the top. More importantly, after cooking several chickens, the common factor is that the top of the chicken is cooked as needed, but the lower part of the chicken is undercooked and even considered raw. I had to flip on chicken in the rack as the top was done, but when removing it from the rack, I found the lower portion medium rare as best which is not good for chicken. Had to flip the bird over on the rack and cook additional time. I now have the concerns that any food will cook at this variable, i.e. done on top, rare on the bottom. $100 for lessons learned as I will go back to the standard oven.
