You can use standard threads when using the SQ9285 and thread weight will depend on your fabric and project.

I do not know I do not have a case for it but I do believe it just might they are the same size

The Brother SQ9285 is a sewing and quilting machine only. Embroidery is not one of its functions and does not come with any embroidery hoops.

The dimensions of the SQ9285 with the wide table are D/W/H (21.10” X 9.88” X 12.48”). The dimensions without the table is D/W/H (16.02" x 6.69" x 11.48").
