I picked up the BookGuard 1 Inch Premium Bookbinding Replacement Strips to repair and strengthen some of my old books, and they’ve worked better than I expected. These strips feel durable and well made — much stronger than regular tape or cheap fixes. Once applied, they hold the pages securely in place and give the book a clean, professional look, almost like it was rebound. The 1-inch size was perfect for the projects I had, and the adhesive sticks well without peeling up over time. I appreciated how easy they were to use — you don’t need special tools or skills to get a neat result. The strips align easily, and they don’t bunch up or wrinkle when being applied if you take your time. I also noticed that the finished result feels stable — the books open and close naturally without pages loosening again, which was exactly what I was looking for. This is fantastic stuff! It performed beautifully in my book repair. It was easy to work with. The adhesive is very strong, but also flexible. We'll see how it holds up over time, but I have high hopes.

I was surprised to find that making tape that actually sticks to books didn't seem be high on the list of priorities for other book repair tape manufacturers. Not so for BookGuard! They say 'aggressive adhesive', and they mean it. Sturdy tape that sticks and stays stuck even as the book is used. Excellent tape, well worth the price.

My son plays the organ at church and his hymnal spine was cracked. This green book tape matched perfectly, and was easy to use. The 1.5 inch width worked out well for our hymnal. The adhesive is strong and the tape is flexible, perfect for book spines. There’s a lot of extra tape left after repairing it but I’m sure it’ll come in handy.

Worked well to fix a book spine. But it is a long roll. What do I do with the rest of it?

Not my first choice for cloth tape but has held up well after months of use. Has a dull finish (not shiny). Easy to apply and work with.

Great for journal making

I make my own notebooks and I use this in the edges and it works great. It’s really thick and stays on good

Good strong tape that strengthens the spine and covers over the staples used to put the book together. Looks good on booklets also when repairing spines of printed books.

The book binding tape is exactly what I was looking for to make a lay flat album, so glad I purchased

Used to repair a kindle case, among other things. It does exactly what is says. Unlike a product from another vendor, for which I have to find a use - perhaps as masking tape as it peels so easily.
