The preferred oil for the Porsche 996.
Great oil for the Porsche 996 engine. It is more expensive than other oils, however it is cheaper than an engine rebuild. It is highly recommended in the Porsche circles. You won't regret it.

This is a GREAT product for all M96/97 engine owners
This is a GREAT product for all M96/97 engine owners, my car starts with less noise and I have ZERO consumption. I migrated off of the factory Mobil1 0w40 to Motul. Then I bought this. I will always buy this as it is cheap insurance for a motor that is extremely expensive to rebuild, and I know.. I spent 18K on getting mine overhauled when my IMS bearing let loose.

Great for Racing
This oil has been used in my engine (3.8l Porsche flat-six) since it was rebuilt. It's been over a year and a half with lots of track miles and no sign of wear and no oil consumption.

High zinc is great to prevent bearing failure
Only oil I use in Porsche Boxster due to IMS bearing failures

Recommended
This oil was recommended to me by the Mechanic I trusted to swap out my IMS bearing in my 996. I am normlly and AMSOIL fan, however this is also synthetic. I have only had one oil change on it, but the oil looked great, if the car were not a Porsche I probably would not have changed it.

High price + Bad Packaging = NOT happy.
First of all...This oil is the recommended stuff for my aging Porsche Cayman. Otherwise, I wouldn't pay $13 per quart for any oil. Next, bought it from a place called "Wholesale Performance" The package came today. Stout cardboard box undamaged. Inside, a MOUNTAIN of styrofoam peanuts...Hate the things. Then another stout, undamaged cardboard box that had oil marks on the bottom. Icing on the cake was that at least one of the quart bottles had leaked in the case. Not a lot, but 4 or 5 bottles are wet to the touch. The tops were on the plastic bottles loosely and one of the tamper-evident foil things must be leaking. My first Joe Gibbs experience and not a very good one. Doesn't speak well for their quality systems. I think this is a small company started by a racer that gets fancy prices for oil and doesn't have experience in large scale packaging processes. These sorts of bottles are generally super-tight.

Held up well for 10,000 mile run.
Used in my non-turbo Mini Cooper, it held up well. I beat the tar out of this car on my 100 mile daily commute. Oil analysis came back with very low wear metals and a TBN of 2.7. (1 qt makeup oil). Recomended for high performance cars but worked fine in my daily driver, even with the constant high RPMs.
