Terrific for use in my Foredom TX flex grinder
The 1/4 inch fine rasp is ideal for making custom knife handles for Japanese knives. The 1/8 rasp was ideal for cutting the tang hole in the handle bolster. It’s so much faster than a Kutzall 1/2 round hand rasp and I have a LOT more control with the 1/4 rasp with the variable speed controller on the Foredom flex grinder. I roughed out the custom handle seen in the photos from a rectangular block of maple burl. The rough out usually takes 60+ minutes with a hand rasp. With the Kutzall 1/4 rasp, I had my rough out done in 15 minutes. The short video shows the grinding speed in a scrap piece of rock maple. It works fast, even the fine grit. I used an oscillating spindle sander and then hand sanded the burl handle to 600 grit. I have not used a coarse Kutzall rasp yet - that has to be a real beast for grinding quickly! I wanted to minimize finish sanding so I opted for the fine rasp. Best addition to my knife handle making tool kit in a LONG time! Definitely worth the $$. Hope this helps!

Kutzall cuts great
Works extremely well. I’m very impressed with how fast I was able to rough out my spoon bowl. Just what I wanted and at a good price.

A fine carving burr
This 1/2" diameter round nose fine cut carving burr does its job like a dream. The burr is not grabby and is easy to control. It leaves a fine surface at high RPM if you move it slowly and in a controlled manner. Like all burrs it tends to gather some wood chips but they are easily cleaned with an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. An excellent tool.

High Quality Metal, Great design and construction
I am using this bit (along with several others) for making some channels in wood for a particular purpose. This Kutzall bit does the job, but I was a little bit drawn back by how slow I had to move my work piece to carve it. There was one time when the dust actually caught on fire since I couldn't move my work forward fast enough. I have a heavy duty router from a big name company in the U.S. but I could not cut fast enough. I did buy another style and it works better. Maybe it's time to upgrade to an even more powerful router.

Buzz ball , you bet !!
These are great for hogging out wood for projects . If you have never used a rotary rasp like this , practice first on a stable piece of wood in a stable situation, put the project in a vise if possible. Wear thick gloves to start till you get the hang of how they cut . They will not only remove a large of wood quickly, they will also remove a large amount of human flesh quickly if the the operator chooses . Luv these ,

Jack the ripper
Have used their products for years doing wood carving. Have used mainly the extra coarse burrs to rough stock of. Great product that I'll continue to buy.

The right tool
I was replacing the four (incredibly cheap) deadbolts on my house doors with quality ones. The pockets in the door jambs needed to be enlarged to accept the new deadbolts. This tool did the job beautifully. All four are done perfectly and the tool seems barely broken-in. The trick is to follow the manufacturer's advice and let the tool do the work. Great purchase and highly recommended.
