Weight counts!
I can finally split a log, I used to think I was a wimp, now I know I just needed the right tool. Thanks!

Not a maul
Cannot be struck with a hammer, what do they think you’re supposed to be able to do with a maul?

Great maul! The eight pound head delivers quite a wallop and splits the wood well. Additionally, the machined smoothness and curvature of the head eliminates it from getting stuck in the wood for the most part when a log doesn't split on the first hit. Very pleased with the purchase, however, I think I will purchase a Collins 6 pound maul also. The 8lb gets pretty heavy after a few hours of continuous use.

Damaged
Got this right out of the box and it’s damaged the blade has a chip in it and has Nicks all over the axe head. So if you don’t care about receiving the damage axe go ahead and buy but if you’d rather have a new one I’d look elsewhere

Quality
Handle broke after only one month. Had to purchase a new handle for this product. It was great until than.

Poor quality
The handle snapped within an hour of use. No mis-strikes or bad hits, it just snapped. This is by far the worst maul I’ve ever used.

Lasted a few weeks and the handle split down the middle
The maul worked fine for a few weeks and then just split in half on a piece of black locust that was already cracked.
