Climate Change : The Facts Paperback

I started this book not long after the extinction rebellion protesters and finished it shortly before Theresa May’s policy setting a zero emissions target date. Much of this book argues that the “facts” presented by climate researchers are unprovable and yet the title implies that the opinions expressed within the book are “facts”. So it didn’t actually helped my understanding of the issue, it is just an emotional appeal that I should mistrust others. By the way throughout my live the word ‘change’ has been predominantly associated with improvement. So I note with amusement that people are talking about climate crisis and climate emergency. Does anyone know where can I panic buy climate?

A mainly very good introduction to the case against a supposedly beyond question topic. I felt that in one or two places it got a little too technical for most of the target audience. Sadly this target audience will not include most of the sort of mindless unquestioning believers who think that climate scientists are the experts rather than mere theoreticians with next to no practical skills so little if any of the data can be remotely trustworthy. A fact that even a school child of my generation of the wrinklies would have found painfully obvious. The reality is that the self styled scientists are all totally untrained in most of the key skills in signal analysis , not even reaching engineering first year undergraduate level. At least this basic level is required to determine the normal climate pattern to enable even a shallow pretence to understanding let alone to know how it deviated. This is ignoring the more subtle analysis of how much is the man made factor. I would have liked a little more reminders that we are now only 17 months from climate meltdown which was the supposed justification for the hundreds of job losses and fuel poverty that has been the result of these policies. If possible it would have been useful to show how so far the slope of the temperature graph is flattening not rising sharply as predicted showing the abject incompetence of the self styled experts in climate. I also think that possibly more should have been made of the number of modifications to the data that have been made even after claims that the science was beyond question. Clearly this has to be either knowing fraud or a level of blind stupidity that really is not quite believable.

This book has been a revelation. For decades we have been bombarded with the 'evidence' that Anthropomorphic Global Warming is going to change our climate beyond all recognition. The discerning 'superior' Cognescenti have looked down their well funded research noses at anyone who had the temerity to challenge the 'perceived wisdom' and the dire warnings of global catastrophe that would follow if we didn't accept the 'settled science'. Eminent scientists who questioned the data, methodology and computer modelling used to force this mantra down our throats were ridiculed, vilified and labelled as 'deniers'. The poor public, who have been led by the nose to accept Cape & Trade, increased fuel costs, putting many in fuel poverty, and green taxes to fund the 'green agenda', have been sold down the river. Well the chicken has well and truly come home to roost. Apart from the fact that there has been no discernible warming for the last seventeen years, this book, using the same detailed data that these 'experts' used, have published peer reviewed reports and papers that many said never existed, have systematically and authoritatively debunked almost all of the pronouncements that is now called 'Climate Change'. This whole scientific sleight of hand, on which our current clamour for carbon reduction, desecration of our countryside and the green energy is based, has been shown to be pure speculation not borne out by the climate facts. For nearly twenty years there has been no discernible or significant increase in global temperature, no increase in frequency or strength of hurricanes or storms, no increases in drought or flooding, no rising sea levels, no catastrophic ice reductions. In fact none of the worst twenty doom laden predictions, have come to fruition. Not only has the main scientific institutions been found wanting, but their efforts to hide the true results from the public have bordered on criminality. Not only have they destroyed the reputations of countless scientists who dared to challenge the figures and methods, but they have brought the whole concept of balanced, observable, evidence based scientific research into disrepute. One major statement from this book sums it up nicely 'Climate change catastrophism is the biggest scientific fraud that has ever occurred. Much climate ‘science’ is political ideology dressed up as science.' For anyone who still has an open mind about the whole issue of Global Warming, or as it is now euphemistically called Climate Change, this book is a must read. Whether you are convinced of the 'settled science' or remain a sceptic in the face of the near religious acceptance of Anthropomorphic Global Warming this book will make you think again and put the whole debate into perspective. None of the scientists or contributors to this book have anything to gain by publishing these facts. However, for me, my faith has been restored that there are scientists out there who are prepared to be counted in the face of overwhelming odds, who have maintained their balanced and open-minded approach to their research, and are willing to let the public decide for themselves where the truth lies without bias or hidden agenda. Highly Recommended.

Excellent, well written series of essays. Very informative, generally not partisan and pointing at the many holes in the pro-global warming arguments. As has often been said, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. This book shows how the evidence for man-made global warming is far weaker than claimed, and "known physics" such as CO2 = about 1 degC warming for a doubling is conflated with arm-waving conjecture such as that water vapour feedback will multiply that 3 times, hence the "world is about to end" domesday global warming scenario's . Would have been great to see an essay from Judith curry in there, but hey that's the only star writer missing off the list. And yes, I bought and read this in its entirety.

Anyone who is concerned about the climate change narrative and the price the public is aked to pay through the push for reducing the use of fossil fuels ought to read and re-read this very carefully. It is essentially a revelation of the true scientific facts and analyses, and the danger of pandering to the self-interest of individuals.

Somewhat over optimistic view

Detailed and forensic analysis of the science, political and social issues surrounding climate change theory and the resultant government policies. The book presents the series of dominoes now resulting in the current policies advocated by both sides of government. It argues these are expensive, ineffectual and even unnecessary. Demonstrated is the need to pause and reexamine the first domino of evidence based climate science, and for political pressure to be offloaded from scientists in so doing. Let science, not consensus guide the debate.

Must read. Scientific facts rather than religious arguments ...

Excellent book, documenting much of the concerns that many have over the belief of AGW and the rush to get an agreement in Paris in 2015. The pre- industrial climate was the Little Ice age -- not something anybody would willingly prefer to today's climate. It would appear to be the preferred climate for alarmists. A minor temperature change in geologic terms, now threatens to destroy the west's standard of living and commit millions to continued poverty. The facts are laid out in a straight forward way and alarmists are treated fairly, but more than meet their match with this book. The JPPC's mandate is to find evidence to prove that man made global warming is creating a terrifying future and carbon dioxide is to blame and must be stopped. The fact that we have experienced nearly 2 decades of flat temperatures is never explained by the alarmists but the march to a world treaty to control energy goes on, with the meeting in Paris in 2015 set to legislate a clamp on carbon dioxide as the great villian. This book is set in a question format and the answers are logical and make a complex situation clear. Politics has overtake science and has forced science to give up its most powerful weapon - skepticism. The book explains this very well.

Manmade climate change is the original sin, the root cause of the suicidal policies of the world in recent years. The book explains the way that this lie has been created and promoted. It is a collection of various writers, from distinct fields. I would highly recommend this book.
