Fritz Aquatics PRO - F/2 Algae Food PTA - 16oz

A nice dense chemostat culture of Tetraselmis on this two part media. Running at f not f/2 concentration (i.e. twice as concentrated)

Worked for growing the algae, but you have to guess how often to use it, as their are no instructions for this on the product label. I called and left a message with the company and am waiting on a reply to this question of how often to use the directed amount.

When I mixed the two components together in equal amounts by volume, within 2 days I found a cloudy "goop" occupying the bottom 10% of the sterile glass container. I do not know if this is good or bad, but it looks terrible. I am using the part of the mixture without the sediment and it seems to be working okay, I am not sure if it is as effective as other sources of F2 I have bought in the past though. I do know those other sources did not drop out this ugly sediment. In the attached pictures, first shows immediately after mixing. Second shows 1 hour after mixing. Mixture was transferred from 500ml Lab flask to just emptied clean water bottle when first mixed.

I have been growing phytoplankton for years, and have used many fertilizers from proper f/2 formulations to miracle grow and miracid. I have had by in far the best luck with the widest variety of phytos using Fritz's f/2 formulation. Pro-tip; keep in fridge to keep possible bacteria contamination to a minimum.

I grow phytoplankton to feed my corals and decided to try this two part, I experimented with other brand F2 and the results are amazing, this yield a very concentrated deep green culture.

This is enough F2 micronutrient to grow 1000's of flasks.... Much easier then making it from scratch. Thank you Fritz Aquatics! -Ag and biosys Engineering Dptmt. University of Arizona

Doesn't grow my plankton like a regular F2, this one requieres a second component

What can I say? My algae, plants, and shrimp are very happy! This product is very easy to use and works very well. Thank you very much.
