So, I got this product because of my cats rather than a child (currently pregnant so I am sure it will still be in use in the future!). It works perfectly to keep my cats out of the closets I do not want them in such as a pantry and my linens closet. It fits perfectly too on average size accordion doors, however if you have thicker than normal doors, I don't believe it will fit. It is perfect for 1 1/3-inch widths, it does not scratch the paint and is fairly easy to move on that measurement, for anything thicker you would want to look into an alternative like this. The slides come with this little plastic stick you are supposed to use to move it, however it is very flimsy and easier just to move the slide itself (I am 5'8 so I find this option easiest as I can reach it and place it exactly where I want it to be). If you are on the shorter side, it is still moveable by the stick, but the stick doesn't go down far for obvious reasons so be aware of that. Another great thing about this product is that even if a child, or in my case a cat, pulls at the door relentlessly and even shakes it the slide does not move. It stays in place under a lot of stress; however, it is plastic so keep in mind it is not indestructible. Overall, I think this is a great product for the price of it and has made keep my cats out of trouble very easy!

I bought these because my very hairy cat kept getting into my closet and sleeping on my clothes and shoes. No matter how much I tried to barricade the doors, he managed to get them open. These slide locks were the perfect solution to my problem, and I no longer have to pile things in front of my closet to keep the cat out. Slides back and forth with ease when I need to open the doors.

So simple and very effective. Great idea.

We purchased this set of locks to keep our daredevil little ones out of our pantry that has 2 bi-fold doors. We have been using them for about 2 months now & I can say these are WONDERFUL!!We have NOT had any more unwanted visitors in the pantry stealing snacks, playing with glass storage containers (YIKES!!), etc. Nor have there been any more scares like before when I opened the pantry doors to find two little adventure seekers hiding in there... if you're not paying attention that can surely make you jump (& maybe even yell... agghhh!!!... they scared the daylights out of me!!) lol.I took off one star because while the wand concept is a great idea, we do NOT slide the door locks by them because there is no way they will last. Anybody in our family who is tall enough to reach the locks at the top of the bi-fold doors just slides them over w/out using the wands. That way we are hoping the wands will last long enough for those of us who are not tall enough to reach the locks themselves (yet who are old enough to go into the pantry w/out ransacking it!) to slide them over can actually have the wands to use instead of having to drag a chair over.My sister also has these same locks & her house is where I saw them in use first before coming here to Amazon to buy them. Had I not seen them in use first I may not have been so confident they would work as well as they do, but they are great!If these can keep my adventure seekers from raiding the pantry they must be good because my LOs have outsmarted every other lock we have had to date so we've had to beef things up.. adding chain locks to the tops of doors, padlocks on our fence gates (even a 6 foot PRIVACY fence gate!!), door handle guards, etc. I used to think people who had to put toilet locks, etc. all over their houses must have had maniac kids (I only had girls then!), but then along came boys in our family & things were never the same.. I repent if I ever thought someone had a maniac kid because they had to childproof... now I know it is a BOY thing... not that girls don't get into things, but WOW, boys REALLY get into things!!I WOULD recommend these to a friend & I WILL buy them again if we ever need more. These are MUCH better than the other well known brand that are white w/a dial in the middle (Safety 1st, I believe) of them to make them tighter on the door (that's a joke!.. those suckers just pop off when said kiddo tugs at the doors...they go flying across the room... kids would have distance contests with those.. how far can we send those babies flying.. & how mad can we make Mama.. lol. But THESE babies keep everything locked up nice & tight!I did NOT receive a discount on these & paid the full Amazon going rate on them at the time (I think it was around $10-12). Well worth the money... WELL worth every penny!!

Easy to use. Kept the cat from being able to open the doors.

The media could not be loaded. This product worked great right out of the package! All I had to do was ask my 6’2” husband to lay it on top of the closet door and it has been great ever since. I’m 5’2” and with the attached hanger, I have no problem shifting this at all. I only ordered one of these because I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it. I should have gotten the 2-pack!Although this works well at keeping the door from opening, it is thinner plastic. If someone was to yank on the door with a lot of force, I’m not sure it would stay on there without breaking.

Does the job of locking bi-fold doors, but the plastic feels a bit weak. Wouldn't rely on it for long-term heavy use.
