Great product, awesome customer service
I bought this garlic press because my spouse hated cleaning our cheap old Ikea one and it was on a bunch of lists as being highly rated. We have generally been super pleased with the Dreamfarm garlic press. It is sturdy and well-designed. The chamber for the garlic is large enough to hold one large clove or several medium ones, and it gets a maximum amount of mince out with little effort. The self-cleaning mechanism works just as advertised, so you don't get garlic goo all over your fingers, and there is little debris left to scrub out. The scraper means you don't have to get your knife dirty getting the last bits into your pan. It's also top shelf dishwasher safe! My only complaint is that some of the components are plastic. It's durable plastic, but the places where it joins to the metal do create vulnerable spots, so be careful to wash the press promptly and be gentle loading it into the dishwasher. Recently a plastic component on ours broke, which was disappointing because we love this thing. I contacted Dreamfarm through their Amazon shop and it turns out they have a three year warranty. After sending pictures and an email inquiry, I received a reply back from their customer service rep requesting my Amazon order info and offering to send a replacement. I received the shipping info for the replacement within 48 hours of contacting them about the issue. This attention to customer needs is truly refreshing in an era where customer service is so often outsourced to contractors and AI. Based on this experience and the product, I would happily purchase other kitchen gadgets from this company, and I would recommend that my friends do the same.

As good as all their products
I had to ignore the price of this item at first, and it took me awhile to decide to pull the trigger on it because it's expensive compared to other garlic presses. But I have many Dreamform products that I love and eventually I just couldn't resist. I am glad I didn't wait any longer. This works as advertised and you are really not required to peel the garlic before pressing it. What a great press this is!!!

Leave the skin on
The key to using this press seems to be leaving the skin on the clove. I bought it as a gift, and the recipient did not find it life-changing as most Dreamfarm products are in my experience, so I was going to return it but decided to test it myself first. I tried a peeled clove, guessing this might improve the performance, but it resulted in lots of minced garlic being left inside the cartridge and hard to dig out. It turned out my recipient had also tried it with peeled cloves. Once I put unpeeled cloves in, the results were great: very few minced pieces remained inside and along the edges to clear with my finger or on the skin, and the skin was easily flicked out using the tool's lever. I'm pleased and keeping the press. Four stars because $50 is pretty steep, but I believe this very sturdy product will last forever and outperform other options. Love Dreamfarm - accept no imitations!

Been using it four years now and LOVE it!!
I've had this garlic press for four years now and love it even more than when it first arrived. It's incredibly durable (built like a tank), and between the ejector and the bumpy protrusions on the reverse side it's damn near self-cleaning. As someone who has previously had to laboriously clean out cheap garlic presses with the tip of a bamboo skewer I can't tell you how much I love this. For people who have had problems with the ejector, it's probably because you peeled the entire clove before pressing. This leaves you trying to use the ejector on mush, which doesn't work super well. I find that the press works best with half-peeled cloves. I peel one face of the clove (half the time the peel falls off one side anyway as I'm breaking it off the head, so this isn't exactly hard) and put the bare side against the holes in the press. Then I press the cloves (I line up multiple cloves sometimes, doesn't seem to be a problem). Because there isn't papery skin between the clove and the holes in the press, the garlic presses easily, but there's enough skin left in the press that the leftover gunk pops out easily with the ejector. Of course it does also depend on the variety of garlic you're pressing. I mostly use hardneck garlics which have thicker skins than the stuff you get in supermarkets. (Don't get me started on the flavorless stuff that gets shipped in from China. A good, locally-grown garlic tastes SO much better. But I digress.) My one (minor) beef with this press is that it does allow some garlic to squeeze out around the edges, the seal isn't ideal, but I've had this problem with pretty much every garlic press I've ever owned, so I'm not dinging it too much for that. The action is so smooth it feels like butter, it's super easy to clean, and I can do three giant heads of garlic for a 3-gallon pot of chili in just a few minutes. I'd run out and buy another one of these right now, except that this one will probably last me a lifetime.

Peel ejector doesn't work but it presses great!
Peel ejector doesn't work but it presses great! The ejector only pulls through the tiniest section in the middle, so I stil have to get a knife and pry out the mess inside. Not really what I expected for the money.... but it's very sturdy and my last one broke, so I'll keep it.

Good Kitchen Purchase
Such a good alternative to cutting garlic by hand. It is the only garlic press I found that can both wipe the grate and eject the skins from the chamber. The metal construction feels high quality and it’s extremely easy to use and clean.

This gadget is brilliant!!! I love this thing. It has made peeling and crushing garlic quick, simple and no hassle. I show everyone who visits me because it's incredible that I no longer have to peel the garlic and get smelly fingers. It even ejects the peel! What a fantastic design. I love everything from DreamFarm. I wish I had their imagination and ability to design unique products that solve real problems.

This product works as advertised. It’s easy to use, well made and produces nicely minced garlic - none of the crushed results that ruin flavour.
