Great replacement for older cars
I bought this to replace a 550F relay I have in an older car, the 550F had a lot of little issues which I thought were part of the cars wiring. But I figured it wouldn't hurt to try this instead, since I knew that the inconsistent flashing pattern I was getting was the fault of the 550F.When it arrived it plugged right in, no fuss. worked right out of the box no problems. It has a consistent flash pattern and allows enough current for all lamps to light up (which was a problem I had with the 550F).It certainly exceeded my expectations, and by the looks of it, with the chunky plastic shell and rugged-looking internal components, it will do so for quite a while.

Not very loud.
I was looking for a loud flasher to better hear it in my older car. This was supposed to be louder than stock, but is actually only slightly louder. It works, but not for my intended use.

This flasher works with a stock 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MK3 - many others won't.
I tried a bunch of 3 prong flashers in the $5-$12 range.It used to be that anything would work, but now they are mostly sensitive to the polarity of the vehicle due to using more modern electronic components.This flasher is still made the old fashioned way and will work for your positive ground car.

Works... partially
The unit I received is defective. It does not flash the pilot lamp, though it did so for about 30 seconds after installation. It flashes the signals just fine, but the lamp on the dash does not flash. My old flasher unit did flash everything properly, but sometimes it would not work at all. So, I am fairly certain the pilot lamp is not at fault. Unfortunately, there are few other choices, so I will have to order another one of these in hopes that it WILL work properly. I think I waited too long to try this one out to be able to get a refund :(

I bought this because it was cheaper than the one I bought at NAPA, all the numbers were the same. Now maybe I'm being harsh butno matter what I tried it wouldn't work. I gave it two stars and that's being kind.

Works well, but type of light affects speed of flash. Go with an all solid state if you want a consistent flash for LEDs and incandescent.
