I tend to think of this more as a hydrating sunscreen, than a moisturizer that has SPF in it. Because it's oil-free, it's not super moisturizing, but it is hydrating (It has several good humectant ingredients for increasing hydration, like aloe, hyaluronic acid, and panthenol.) It is a bit thick and takes some time to spread over skin -- this is due to the non-nano zinc oxide, which is my sunscreen ingredient of choice for my sensitive rosacea-prone skin. It will leave a white cast, as all non-nano zinc oxide creams do. Because my skin is fair, it's not noticeable, but it may stand out on deeper skin tones FYI. If you have really dry skin, you may want to layer a moisturizer or serum underneath. This is the only day cream I need in the summer on my combination skin, but in the winter I use this as a top sunscreen layer over another moisturizer. This has really increased the health of my skin, and is one of the few mineral sunscreen moisturizers that doesn't clog my pores.

I have waited long enough to write a review because Juice Beauty changed the original formula. At first, I hated it, but now, it is an essential part of my skincare. It has a natural herbal scent due to its natural ingredients. Remember, this is a mineral skin, the safest time of sun protection you can purchase. I always get it on Amazon because it is the only place where I can find it on sale sometimes. If you loved the original formula and think you might hate this one, give it a second chance. Perfect for oily mature skin!!!!

Honestly just skip this product & spend your money elsewhere. I tried to like this but it just didn’t work out. I gave it my best shot for a few weeks & ended up throwing it out. It leaves a terrible white cast on my skin plus made me dry & flaky. I tried to use it with my tried & true moisturizer to see if that would lessen the white cast & bring back moisture but it didn’t. Smell wise it has a pine/earth scent, however that didn’t bother me too much. It’s a heavier weight product so it does take some work getting it rubbed on but the white cast isn’t going anywhere. Heed my advice!

I have olive skin so it does take extra time to rub in the cream so that it fades into my skin. I decided to put it on an hour before I leave the house so that it does begin to absorb and when I rub it in closer to when I am leaving it fades in much easier. This product feels like it is really protecting your skin and is much more waterproof than other sun creen moisturizers I have used, because even to wash it off my hands takes time with soap. I bought it because of the recommendation of EWG I was fine with the smell and the moisturizing quality was ok for me as I use another moisturizer at night so this for the day was fine. Something I could not understand however is the instruction to shake or knead the tube before using. The cream is not of the consistency to shake and the tube is very full so kneading is not possible until maybe half used. I would hope Juice Beauty would be able to guarantee that the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout.

LOVE IT! Yes, it's thicker than other moisturizer's, but I think that's because it's oil free. It's consistency is more like sun screen. However, I had no issues w/ it leaving any film or making my skin white. It smells a little like grass, this is true, but it's not horrible. It makes my skin feel like silk & doesn't make my skin greasy. I am a Retin-A user, so I need a heavy sunscreen on my face during the day. This one works very well, w/o the greasiness I had w/ the other products I tried. Plus it's organic & cruelty free. HUGE selling points for me. In the morning, I wash my face. Then i apply my Retin-A & apply this 10 minutes later. I give it a few minutes to sink in & apply my makeup. No problem. Love this stuff & will be buying again!

I give this moisturizer three stars because I think it is probably high quality; it just didn't work for me. I have been using the moisturizer without the sunscreen for a long time, and it is fabulous, but my skin did not react well to the sunscreen formula. When I applied it, my face burned and turned red immediately. It also peeled after a couple of days, almost as if I had been sunburned! (I had not, it wasn't even sunny on the day I tried it!) The main reason I wanted to review this is for others who might be using the moisturizer already, like me, and are thinking that this will be the same thing, except with sun protection - it's not. That doesn't mean it might not work for you; it just didn't work for me. Also, it is tinted (as are pretty much all sunscreens containing zinc oxide). This wasn't a problem for me, as I have a fair complexion, but for those of you with darker olives or browns in your coloring, it might leave an off-white cast.

Finally!! A safe facial moisturizer with sunscreen that doesn't break out my skin!! I've been searching for this for years! Most of the facial products for moisturizing that are safe (per Environmental Working Group) are oil based, and that is an instant break-out recipe for my skin. I've tried a bunch of them and failed miserably. So each time I had to go back to the toxic, but non-oil based moisturizers sold at my local store. I finally came across this oil-free moisturizer and a couple of months in I am incredibly pleased. I'm not breaking out. My face is soft and protected from the sun. And I'm putting less toxins into my body by switching. I couldn't be happier! The lotion is thick for sure. A very small amount (the size of a pea) will cover my entire face. It takes a minute to rub it all in, but it's well worth the time spent! It has minimal odor - light and pleasant - and it's not too heavy feeling either. Certainly better than the alternatives I've tried!

The moisturiser has a pleasant smell upon application but this smell vanishes quickly to be replaced by the unpleasant smell of an unwashed skin. In addition, it made my skin look shinny and it is now congested. This is NOT an Oil Free Moisturiser. Very disappointed indeed!.........
