Good sound quality but TERRIBLE STIFF TUBING THAT IS FRUSTRATING TO USE
This stethoscope has great sound quality- BUT: The tube is extremely stiff. I have used this for about 2 years now and it hardly has any flexibility/bend to it, which causes the chestpiece to be difficult to keep on the wrong setting as the tube will not flex with the physical exam to stay on either the bell or the diaphragm. I thought having various sizes would be useful, but in reality it's very impractical for primary care to be screwing and unscrewing the chest pieces between 20 minute visits so I hardly ever do (except for a neonate- when I need to). The earpieces wore out within the first year and I could not find good replacements, so I got some generic ones which now hurt my ears as well. Overall, I feel like the tubing is so stiff it makes every physical exam a frustrating struggle and I'm in the market for a new stethoscope- I'll probably go Littman. No amount of acoustics is worth the inability to control/manipulate the stethoscope during an exam- the tradeoff is not worth it and I honestly am not even convinced the acoustics are that much better than a littman.

Top notch stethoscope
I've only used littmann from the beginning of my nursing career, however, littmann doesn't have all the attachments in one stethoscope like MDF. I took a leap and purchased this item. When I received the stethoscope I was disappointed. Amazon didn't package it properly and the attachments was broken. I sent an email to Amazon but found it more helpful to call the company. With no question they sent the broken item via FedEx and had a return label for the broken parts, then they enrolled me in the parts for life program. I couldn't have asked for better customer service from MDF(not amazon). It was a bonus that the stethoscope works flawlessly! I have found the only stethoscope I will need. I recommend MDF Instruments to any health care professional that is looking for a product that works and will save you money on parts for LIFE.

Works great, but very heavy and stiff tubing
This stethoscope brand was recommended by my nursing school, so I figured, why not! I was not disappointed in the quality of the stethoscope, but one thing that really irritates me about it is that on this particular model, the name tag does not fit around the tubing, which is VERY thick and heavy. In combination with the diaphragm and bell, which are heavy by themselves, this makes for a very heavy stethoscope! I try not to hang it around my neck for sanitary reasons, but it ends up pulling my scrub pants down on one side when I have it in the cargo pocket. The thick tubing make it hard to coil and stuff into a pocket, and because I wear size XS scrubs, the pockets are never big enough to store this big, heavy thing! I am torn, though, because the sound quality is amazing! I am able to hear murmers with it, but when I'm not using it (which is 90% of the time) it really just gets in the way. And I don't want to put it down because I'm afraid someone will steal it. Overall, I wish I would have gone with a non-cardial stethoscope, solely because of the extra fat tubing. I wouldn't mind the weight of the diaphragm and bell if the tubing were more flexible.

A great stethoscope!
I needed a replacement for my old HP Sprague-Rappaport stethoscope and after reading reviews I decided to order the MDF ProCardial C3 Stethoscope. The PROS are: 1) well made and appears to withstand regular use; 2) Heart and lung sounds are audible 3) MDF policy of part replacement for the life of the stethoscope.Minor CONS are 1) it is on the heavy side;2) the there should be a choice and or option for the length of the tubes -it is much longer by about 4 - 5 inches than my older stethoscope (Littman also had various lengths of tubing from 22 - 27 inches at least. This contributes to a slight bulkiness of the stethoscope when placed on the side pocket of my coat. Otherwise, this looks to be a great instrument.

Best stethescope I have purchased in my 25 years as a nurse!
I would give this stethescope a 5 star overall. It is the BEST stethescope I have ever purchased in my 25 years as a nurse! I work as a postpartum nurse caring for moms and babies. The ease of changing one instrument from something appropriate for the mom and then switching it to accomodate her baby is AWESOME! The sound quality is a five star rating also. SUPERIOR!! The only thing about the stethescope I would change is the tubing. It is thick and heavy, BUT if I would have to forfeit the sound for lightweight I would suffer through the weight to have the superior sound. I was a bit disappointed in the packaging. There wasn't any instructions so I had to muddle my way through. I would also LOVE to have a case appropriate for fitting it. Please let your current customers, like myself, know when this product is made :) I would purchase it!! A SATISFIED customer!!

They are heavy but I love the sound quality even over my cardio Littman
Stethoscope arrived in a matter of days. I have grown so accustomed to my navy MDF, I ordered this one as well. They are heavy but I love the sound quality even over my cardio Littman. Nothing bothers me more than not being able to auscultate breath and cardiac sounds. For that reason, the MDF is my preferred stethoscope in terms of sound and price!

I can hear everything!
I like the ability to hear everything with this stethoscope. I bought it due to wanting to get into pediatric care and not wanting to have different stethoscopes for the different age groups. I was surprised by how well I can hear everything through this one. Thank you for making such a great stethoscope that is so versatile.

A co-worker recommended the MDF and I tried hers
I received this item the next day, which was really exciting to me. I have always owned litman stethoscopes but my dog ate a tiny piece of the ear bud holder and needed to be replaced. A co-worker recommended the MDF and I tried hers, which was much more clear than my expensive litman and it has a lifetime warranty. Love it

I have always purchased Littman stethoscopes in my 28 years of nursing. I wanted to try another. I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality, with the interchangeable bells and dams. the product is very sturdy. I love the life time warranty

and interchangeable parts useful for students/healthcare workers doing both adult and pediatric rotations
Crisp sound transmission, solid construction, and interchangeable parts useful for students/healthcare workers doing both adult and pediatric rotations. I purchased this because I was looking for a stethoscope that does NOT use a tunable diaphragm. Tunable diaphragms are under less tension and do not transmit sounds as clearly. I had a chance to compare this stethoscope to other popular Littman models that use tunable diaphragms, and on this one heart sounds are more distinct; not as "muddy" as with tunable diaphragms. Other designs with non-tunable diaphragms such as the Welch-Allyn Harvey are also clearer than stethoscopes with tunable diaphragms. I chose this one because the price and interchangeable parts made it good value to me. The modular design is a bonus to me, I wasn't looking for it. But I am finding the modular design useful as a medical student; I made use of the pediatric-sized attachments on my pediatric rotations. Disadvantage: the modular design makes the chest piece heavier than other dedicated adult or pediatric scopes, but not enough to be a concern for me personally.

Comparable to Littman
So far so good. Easily same quality as my Littman Cardiology III stéthoscope. I like the ability to use for multiple age demographics
