This pump says it will pump 5-8 feet (450gph) but it doesn't. I went to Lowes and bought a smaller pump (300-500gph) than this one and it works beautifully. I couldn't find tubing to fit so it took me awhile to try it out with my fountain. I can't return it now because it's been a month. This is quite upsetting. I didn't know they changed their return policy.Don't buy this if you need it to pump 5-8 feet, it couldn't pump 3 feet. Very disappointing.

So far so good. Seems to be very powerful and quiet. It's only been a week, but I'm very happy with it!

Very satisfied with this pump

I struggled with the rating because the pump is well constructed, is powerful and works as advertised. However there is one significant flaw for my application. I had a need for a fountain pump and I specifically looked for the auto shut off feature so when the fountain base ran dry the pump would auto shut off. Unfortuantely, for the pump to work and not auto shut off it must be practically fully submerged. There are holes in the back of the case that are very near the top and if not fully submersed the pump shuts off. This is way to high for most home fountain applications and the range between full and below those holes is way to small. For an application in which the pump would be fully submerged... 5-stars.

This is really good pump / finally one that has a low water shut off switch. Submersible and also comes with 3 different size connectors. Works great straight out of box.
