OBEX Waterproof Case for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - Retail Packaging - Black with Gray

OK. I read a lot of reviews before finally buying this case. And I have to say I'm glad I did. Yes its hard for people to hear me and for me to hear them. Yes it does muffle the sound when on calls BUT..... This case saved my new note 3 several times from drops and water damage so as far as I'm concerned its a great investment to protect your expensive device. One of my falls was from a bike and the phone landed facedown on gravel. I didn't fare so well but my phone was fully protected thanks to this case .......we'll worth buying in my opinion! My only other complaint is that although this case is light and doesn't add much bulk to my already large phone it is rather slippery, requiring a strong grip, but otherwise I would recommend for the peace of mind I get as I take my phone everywhere with me including long runs on the beach and all day bike (ElliptiGO) rides when I get caught in all types of weather and conditions. It's nice to know that my device is protected and I don't have to worry. Yes I would recommend this case.

This case is fantastic. I used to have a Galaxy S IV. While on vacation I dropped it in the ocean and quickly ruined it. When I replaced with a Note 3 I decided that wasn't going to happen again. I went looking for the best drop-proof / water-proof case that I could find. This one is it. I did the test that is suggested and my phone was under water fully submerged for 15 minutes...no water at all inside the case.I've only dropped it once, but it was right on the corner of the case on concrete. With out a case, or even with some of the cheaper cases, this would have resulted in a cracked screen (or worse). No damage at all to phone, and case doesn't even really look like it got scratched.The only drawback, and the reason I gave it a "4" was because as some other people have stated, the sound does not work well. It is hard for people to hear you if you are talking on the phone to them. In fact, I use headphones all the time when I am on a call. I really don't even try to talk without headphones. For me, that's OK because I just don't take a lot of calls, and I am always listening to podcasts, so I pretty much have my headphones in anyway. If you are someone that doesn't like to use headphones or a Bluetooth headset, and you are on the phone a lot, you need to think seriously about that. However, if you are on the phone a lot, you probably have a Bluetooth. :)If you are interested in protecting your investment in a Note 3, there is nothing better, in my opinion. Happy shopping!

I just started up a new contract on the Verizon edge and I knew that I had to get some serious protection against the elements, that said I read tons of online reviews on Note 3 cases.First off, if you are thinking about getting a water proof case, this is the best bang for your buck. This is an attractive case that really does not add that much bulk to the already large Note 3. This is actually just a great everyday case for your device.Everyone knows that there are some pros and cons to all of this cases so here it goes from what I determined...Pros: Sleek, Truly waterproof, solid yet easy to access ports, can take abuse.Cons: I talked to several people on the phone after installing the case and yes there is some echoing, but really it is fairly minimal. The headphone flap is also a little flimsy, yes it has a rubber stopper, but that can be sometimes too easily opened.Now I try to take good care of my devices, but I want my phone to be prepared for anything. This is essentially the most comparable case to the life proof for your Note device. I also talked to life proof and they have no plans to make a case for the Note devices. I really recommend this product if you want to take great care of your phone!

Its a world of limited choices for waterproof cases for the Galaxy Note 3. You will find that this is one of the few cases that really is water proof. If you want water proof your choices are basically this case or one of the sealable bags. So far this is the only truly waterproof case I have found for the Note 3 but its far from an ideal every day case for most users.Some of the good:- comes with a water proof headphone adapter so I can actually use headphones and listen to tunes while rafting or fishing.- case fits well and buttons and touchscreen seem to work well in case- really is waterproof with all ports closed and/or using the waterproof headphone adapter and not just water resistance- attachment for lanyard which helps to keep phone with me if I end up in the waterSome of the so-so stuff:- The cover that covers the usb/charging port isn't the easiest thing to open. So I find that I am not plugging phone into charger in car on short trips, as it isn't worth the hassle.- Can't use wireless charging with the case. Case only fits phone when you have the standard back installed Thought I could get around charging port issue by using the samsung replacement back that gives you QI compatible wireless charging. Turned out to be a no go. The case won't seal and can't be made waterproof with the charging back is installed. The wireless charging back plate is to thick to allow the waterproof case to close. Just millimeters more clearance in the OBEX case and it would have worked. It charged through the case but the case just wouldn't snap closed and leaked. So no wireless charging and you have to put up with opening the USB port to charge.- there are really small spacer things (single pixel size) that seem to space the screen protector from the screen. Some times you see them some times you don't. If you are the type who gets bothered by a single spec of dust on your screen, it might annoy you.- if you crank up the volume to much in a call, people on the other end will start hearing some echo. Its annoying, but had similar problem in a lifeproof case on another phone. I tend to use a headset so for me not so much an issue. But thought I would mention it.Things that need improvement:- installation was more than just difficult was darn near impossible by following the manual. Graphics are so small that its impossible to figure out how to separate the case. Blowing up PDF full screen on a 27 inch monitor didn't help. Finally found a youtube video that showed proper way (at least I hope it was) to open the case and install the phone.- Instructions for removal of case also suffer the same problem. Images to small and text isn't exactly step by step.- Difficult to figure out best way to open the port covers. I found that if you try to open it USB cover using one finger you just break a nail. You need to grab the phone and use about 2-3 fingers to pop the cover open. I think over time I would get better at it. But the first few times as frustrating with out examples or clear instructions.Conclusion:For what it is and its intending to do I think its a good case if you need something waterproof. Its not the most user friendly case for everyday use and with some tweaking it could easily be improved by the manufacturer. Compatibility with wireless charging back plate being the biggest improvements that could be made. If it would have fit in the case it would have significantly improved the user experience. As would never have to open usb cover. I think when you are deciding you are needing waterproofing for the note 3 you really need to look at what you are doing. If its just for a trip to the beach, an occasional outing on a boat, then I would go with one of the water proof bags and get a normal case for daily use. If you are a person who spends more than a few days a week on the river, out in the rain, mud or snow than I think this case is a more practical solution than one of the water proof bags. But the waterproofing and protection you receive from this case comes with a price beyond the monetary one. You also have a slight reduction in call audio quality as well as a reduction in usability of the phone. For me I can live with that, at least until Samsung release a note4 or equivalent in a waterproof model. But screen will get scratched on the case unless you put a screen protector on the screen protector. Stupid I know, but in a world of few choices you have to do what you ahve to do.Update:Ok, after a hard week of white water rafting I can say the water proof nature of the case held up well. But the plastic screen protector on the case is scratched to the point of being irritating. Am downgrading my rating to 2 stars. They could have easily used a better quality plastic for the screen protector. The purpose of these types of cases is to armour your device from every day mishaps. And I shouldn't need to buy a screen protector for my screen protector.

I've used this for several trips already when I went to Jamaica and Cuba and it has definitley done the job. No leaks whatsoever. My phone was kept safe from water and sand. The sound was actually ok when i used video underwater. Even the picture was amazing! I would recommend to open the camera app already as it is hard to touch when in the water. And have the video going when recording. Overall, great product! I was the envy at the resorts having my phone in the pool and the beach taking selfies... Haha! Great great product!
