Good for carpenter bees and any crawling insects
I bought this to take care of carpenter bees that were riddling the wood with holes on my garage and house woodwork. I wore an N-95 mask and goggles to keep the diatomaceous earth out of my eyes and lungs since I was using it overhead. I bought a bulb duster from Amazon; it has a long brass nozzle nozzle that I could put in the carpenter bee holes to deliver a short puff. When the bee returned, it didn't seem to want to go back in. If it did, it would get the diatomaceous earth on its' body which it could not remove. Afterward I would plug the hole with a cork. When any larva hatched, they would get the diatomaceous earth I puffed into the hole on them. It doesn't take much to kill them. It acts as a desiccant and is very abrasive. It also is not hazardous to other animals. Every year for some reason I get tiny ants in my mailbox, with their eggs/larvae. I've swept them out, but they'd be back again the next day. A little tiny puff of diatomaceous earth took care of the problem. Too little to get on my mail, but enough to get rid of the ants.

Greatest value! But way too much.
Pros: i like the applicator they send with the D-earth! I thought it would be novelty sized and only able to cover a cat's bed but 1 fill covered my entire florida room/ back porch. (Large screen room running the length of the house.)And I mean covered. Not dusted- but sprinkled!I like how you can use the applicator to lightly dust everything, or you can TAP it between squeezes and get a sprinkle with each squeeze for a heavier thicker amount to come out.I purchased the insect killer version of D-earth. So I do have to wait to see if it kills the fleas.Cons:I purchased 4lbs because I didn't see anywhere where it tells how much per square footage you need. I figured I might need 2 applications. But after I applied it very thick. I only needed 2 fills of the applicator to do the whole master bedroom and the whole back porch screen room.So that would be like 1/4 of 1lb. Maybe 1/2 of 1lb.With a 2nd application to everything and doing the cats toys and bedding and possibly 2-3 more bedrooms, you might need 1lb.If you're doing the whole inside of your house (carpeted) and screen room and furniture also, you may need 2lbs.I wouldn't mind having extra for a later dateBUT! The bag doesn't seal. It came with a zip lock type top, but it is completely useless. So this stuff MUST not get moisture or it will no longer be a powder. In Florida that's a problem!I wore a mask and rinsed feet and hands off immediately.

Good product
This product works very well. I have used this product inside and outside and it does what it is advertised to do. Very safe to use. Product is for any crawling insect not just roaches and BB's .

MESSY. Should be opened outside
Only just got it so I can’t rate the effectiveness yet, but whoever though it was a great idea to just toss the distributor thing in the bag, and disassembled at that, it really wasn’t. Having to dig through pounds of powder to find a straw and the tiny yellow piece that connects to it is so annoying and everything being stuffed full of powder just made the biggest mess.
